Hi all, i just purchased my first pet, now i admit i dont know a thing about em and i need some help. The gurrek i bought is a non ch level 10 Rating pet. When i inspected it on the vendor it had 10k ham and was level 10, when i got it and uploaded it is just level 1 with like 1k ham? Do i have to do something to get it to level? Or am I stuck with a level 1 pet?

Pets take time to grow. They start at level 1-2 and grow to there full size and max ham. You should see there maximum ham and level in brackets next to there current level

Ok what do i have to do to make it grow? just use it? have it out?

Just time. Some people say having it out more or feeding it makes it grow but I've never seen first hand evidence to prove that.

I have tested the having it out vs not out and it makes no difference. The only thing that seemed to make the pet grow faster was being connected to the game. If i logged on every day, my pets grew faster than if I just logged on once a week.

I usually advise 4-5 days

ok cool, oh will the ability to teach it commands like attack and follow come with time?

You will need to get a creature handler to teach the pet whatever commands you might want it to be able to use.

Everything except mount can be learnt from day one AFAIK.

I haven't tried it recently, but the fastest way is to log once every 13 hours (or maybe 12 hours but you gotta account for server reset). Then log out since I believe it goes off log out time. The growth ratesmight vary too so it might not take 10 actual iterations. I remember back when pets went live I had a fully grown and mounted Bol on day 2. There was a little trick to that too that I can't remember.

Pets *used* to grow much faster when used a lot, could be several cycles in a day.

Now there is only logging in to help it grow as was mentioned earlier in this thread.
