Hi. I play on the Intrepid server and have just finally mastered BE after 2 months. 2 months you ask. Yeah. I spent alot of time just enjoying this profession and trying to learn as much as I could as I rose up through the skill tree.
I have a question though. I've been making pets and selling them on a pretty standard basis and have gotten a stockpile of critters and DNA to last for quite a while. However, I've been thinking of doing some Tissue crafting for a chef and talor in my guild.
Right now though the resource shifts are terrible and it is hard to get the quality of resources needed to make really good enhancements and suppliments that my Chef and Tailor require.
So finally my question is this. Where do you other MBE's on the Intrepid server get your resources while the shift is bad? Do you know of a vendor that sells resources at a pretty good rate? Are you going out and finding your resources?
I have some meat and some floral that has be good for making a run for each of my buyers but as you know, resources go quickly especially when you only have 25-50k of each to make a few items.
Are the resource shifts predetermined or set on a specific time? For instance, does meats rotate every 2 months? Floral every month? or is it just random chance?
So I think that's it.
1. Where do other MBE's on Interpid get their good resources while the shifts are bad? Vendor? Hunting? Harvest?
2. How often do the Resource Shift take place?

1. They usually have stockpiles. It's not unusual for Chefs/BE/Or any crafting profession to stick down 10/20/30 Heavy harvesters on one good spawn. This means when times are bad, they can still create the best products on the server. My advice is to wait for a good spawn and then farm it like crazy.
2. No exact time really. In my experience any time between 7-28 days.

Well, a couple of things. First, there are actually some nice resources spawning on your server right now, that you should be harvesting like mad. Like these:
Caimu, Dantooine Deciduous Wood (Entered By Newmoon / Not Verified)
DR=576, MA=440, OQ=926, SR=373, UT=316 *
» Marked as available on Dantooine 7 days ago by Newmoon
Potewies, Lokian Avian Bones (Entered By namakak / Not Verified)
DR=635, MA=398, OQ=995, SR=318, UT=493 *
» Marked as available on Lok 2 days ago by namakak
Yacho, Dantooine Scaley Hide (Entered By Idallia / Verified by Newmoon)
DR=288, MA=561, OQ=975, SR=896, UT=191 *
Second, there are things that you can make that will sell very well, that do not require outstanding resources. My very best seller is +13 or +14 active bio sensors, and enhanced myoflex and active tranquilizers of the same power (+13 or +14) also sell well. Believe it or not, the +13 bio sensors sell much better than the +17 or +18 ones, if priced rationally. All you need to make those, is some good wood, and middle-of-the -road resources (like 500 average stuff).
