Thread: Any other Bio Enginer's Deal with a issue like this before ?

I was contacted in game from someone who was looking for around 25 non ch pet's at a low cost they said they had verry little money. So as i pushed on with a few more question's was able to find out the player was going to resell at a higher price then what they was sold for so player could make a profit . I kinda just said sorry i don't intend to cut my self short on profits so she could make what she spent back and a little more profit as i would be short changed from the deal . This did not really make to happy so i just moved on to do some dna samples . Player asked me where you going i said got thing's to do , and if you wish to re think the deal that's fine . Also player did not cover if the pets ham and stats did not matter basicly trash pet creation's . If that would have been covered on might been ok to do .
So this just made me wonder " Have any of you other Bio Enginer's delt with a issue like this ? and how you responded to it ? "
Any info would be great and would give me a good reference to fall back on if it would ever happen again . Thank's !

I too was once approachedby a player asking for 15non-ch yard trashmounts at a low cost because they had little money. Long story short after some questioning I discovered it was an MCH wanting to resell my pets for a significant profit. I felt the way in whichhe approached me was dishonest and explained that if he wanted non-ch pets they could be purchased off my vendor for regular price. Since that point I limit requests to a max of 3 pets per orderand only sell single pets at a deep discount if I can confirm I'm dealing with a new player.

CHs use them as an easy way to get CH xp rather than actually going out in the field and hunting with their pets. I personally never did it as the means never justified the ends - the time used to create them I could have been used making better pets, helping newbies out with questions/pets or collecting meat for additives. Really such small things should be covered by novice BEs. This is basically asking a master smuggler to slice a container for you, most will tell you to get lost.

I was asked by a Merchant/MCH If I could make him 10 CL10 pets with decent stats, so he could resell on. He wasn't deceptive, and was up front about his intentions, and he seemed like a ncie chap, he was willing to pay my normal full price for them, but I gave him a little discount.
He came back to me a few times and I made him about 40 pets in total, one batch was for a guild 'kaadu race' 
It was good business, allowed me to test out the limits of my cl10 template, and I got money for it.
I would only advise this sort of route for players who seem to be decent. If they are reluctant to tell you that they are going to resell, then that implies they see what they are doing as a bad thing, but are doing it anyway. If they are intending to rip off the end customer,there can be consequences. ie:
1. hurt the pet market
2. hurt you reputation, as your name is on the creation deed (unless they are sold already trained)
3. If it is a serious situation, CSRs could become involved, and we all know they aren't afraid to ban people for suspicion alone.

You don't need to feel sorry for people like this... it is one thing if they are a merchant and you are looking to wholesale... but you could drop yard trash on the bazar for $6k each yourself.

Yes I have delt with this before on Gorath, two diffrent people wanting large batches(20+) of QL 10 Pets, found out later that both of them were resellling them at much greater price then I sold them for
I sold batches at 10k each and they turned around and priced them at 25k
Funny thing is I can't sell non-ch pets to save my life even at 10k while they both sold out of the sixty some pets I made for them before I stoped
