I suppose this is kind of a garden variety oddity. And it's not terribly usable because my customer insisted on getting his pet in an aggressive kusak skin. Sometimes they need to listen to us and just shut up. Anyway...
He wanted a lvl 12 pet. The first generation of one of my CL 20ish recipes gives me a CL12 so I figured I'd use something like that. The trouble was my DNA supply was low, and what I had tilted too much towards the VHQ end of the spectrum, influencing slot placement.
Merek Harvester-servorrt-song rasp-voritor dasher-wolf kima
Max phys, 2pts psych
gave a CL 11 with about 5K health and vulns in everything except kinetic. So being an enterpising BE I sampled it four times and did:
MH-gen1-gen1-gen1-gen1
Max phys again
gave me a CL7 kusak
7427/2545/2150 Kin 51 2.05/.21/90-110 blind/stun (that's a nice special combo the wolf kima gives, something I know from my dabbling with a certain forbidden recipe).
Nice pet, too bad it's stuck in an aggressive skin. This was my first sub-CL 9-10 that looked like it might actually be useful. I guess the moral of the story is that merek harvester will absolve many sins.
I sold him the first gen--I wasn't going to try to explain that this was actually the better pet. Of course then I sampled this one, did MH-MH-gen2-gen2-gen2 and got a CL 20 with light armor. It was also kind of refreshing for all the pets to survive the sampling process.
And then yesterday a generous Jedi--when will be the next time you see that phrase in a sentence?--actually sent me a tell with not one, but two waypoints to bark mite burrower queen. Good day. And yes I'm rambling--who else might actually care except this forum? Certainly not the clowns who keep asking me to make them a krayt...

wow how often do you get one of those? I had to get dna from one of those yesterday, and to do it i had to call in my tracker friend.
btw did i mention that i love rangers?
