Thread: How's Publish 20 effected your DNA sampling?

I'm a BE/CH, so I've got NO offencive abealties now. My CL70 Bol that I useually ride to gather DNA sampling has become nothing more than a liability since it's efforts to protect me end up getting everything around it pissed off at me for no apearant reason. Occasionally, I would travel to gather DNA from Jagged Fang. I didn't expect to live and knew my mask scent is only SO good, but now it's become automaticly off limmits to me.
Mask scent, even as a Master Scout, isn't that great and I have to creep past the 2 Varactyl Preystalkers AND hope Jagged Fang doesn't sniff me out. I noticed earlier when sampling DNA from Varactyl and Varactyl Preystalkers to make a CL20 Cu Pa that, fail or succede and causing aggro, will useually make other nearby Varactyl attack me. Half the time the ONLY time I ever manage to kill something is by accident when gathering DNA!
I'm used to having to jump on my BARC and retriet, useually avoiding an expected Death Blow, but this new patch has made being a BE all the more difficult and my pets from being a CH are absolutly useless. I love a good challange as much as the next guy, but CH is the only combat class that involves any thought and planning now. Everything else is simply blast or bash.

For me, it seems to have just completely botched the success rate. I just started BE recently. Currently, I'm working on Sampling 1. I realize that the novice skills suck, but still, I'm getting something ridiculous like a 66% fail rate on cl 1-2s.

i got Sampleing 1 in like a few hr's and had fun doing it, Realy i was suprised i had fun doing it lol. Anyway this is what i did.
i started with like lvl 1-5 them dna sampels suckedso i ended up going out and trying some like 10-11 i noted that my Fale rait was way higher on these but was still like 40-50% then i seen a LvL like 18 uhhmm rino i think it was bull rino so what the hell he's not Red so i gave it a try and ended up geting a quit nice sample. This prompted me to look for more i found 2 lairs like 100m apart or so, i started sampling and moveing back and forth from one to the other useing this macro i made.
The Fale rait was High so my mind ran out fast, so i made this macro to counter that prob.
/sampledna
/sit
/pause 8
/stand
/pause 3
/macro dna
This allowed me to sample over and over and neaver run out of Mind, thus i got my sample within a min or less most of the time.
NOTE when i got agroed i would type /dump then Dbl click my bike witch was right next to me and get out of there, this only happened like maybe 10% of the time as they wernt red to me.
i Hope this helps someone.

I saw my first Malkoc Bull and only managed to get 1 sample from it, but I had much better luck with the Young Malkoc. The stats on the young seem about the same as on the adult and bull, but those 4 less levels they have REALLY help with success. I'm going all-natural, asside from mask scent, so I'm pretty sure I could do much better if I knew what I was doing.

After every publish there's a bunch of people that report problems with sampling. With any luck the sample fail rates will get better over time.
To me, it just seems that the client and server random seeds get messed up. I usually see a similar phenomenon with the loot random factors. Loot drops for certain NPC's raise to about 66% in the first hours after a publish then settle back down to the 10-15% range over a period of a few days. This could be what we've been seeing with every patch/publish.
On the other hand, maybe it's just borked.

It may just be me, but I am working on DNA 4 and get fails on 1 and 2's when im out getting trash for mounts.

My Sampling success rate on Eclipse seems to have dropped dramatically as well.

I too am failing more often than succeeding with yard trash and I've been a master for a fairly long time. I can't get past the forlorn Wookiees so I'll have to wait for my helper to come back to the game before I try again.

This isn't really a rant or a complaint and I'm sorry for hijacking your post. I feel your pain and in honesty haven't logged in my BE/CH since the publish except to drop off an order. (yes you can call me a chicken lol)
Lets hope that there is a way for us to still get by. I can't play again until tomorrow so will wait until then to try and see how well it goes

Is this for lower level critters too or just the higher level ones? Just asking because I know how frustrating sampling the Malklocs has been, the thought of it beeing like that for many others gives me a sick feeling in my stomach
