first off.....does this seem excessively Poke-istic to anyone else, with all the special named attacks like Marring Strike and Blinding Fury and stuff? And does it seem like the Blitz or Blue Magicsystem in FF to anyone else either, with learning abilities from pets as you use them and then teaching them to other pets?
Secondly and primarily, has anyone experimented with the mental stats on TC and see how they affect the amount of training points you can get?
If training points are purely level-based, then non-CH pets are going to be uniform and composite armor-like in that there will be certain specials you can getin them and certain combos of specials that will work best, and you'll just have to worry about maxing health.
If training points (and/or ability slots, not sure just exactly how it all works right now) ARE affectable and experimentable, that will open up a big new aspect of non-CH pet crafting....you'll want to get health as high as you can AND ensure there will beenough training points to fit in all the specials a customer would want.
I really think that once this hits live, the non-CH pet market will EXPLODE again as people look to cover the holes in their template with specials they cant usually get....snares for BH/pistols and another root attack for other ranged profsmostly I suspect, but there might be places for intim and armor break (if there is a pet AB) etc etc, and TH said that pet speed will be affected by specials too, so there will be lots of new orders for non-CH mounts that can learn Improved Pet Speed. That is, of course, assuming that non-CH pets are able to have any meaningful specials at all.

I doubt that the devs would look far enough into this to make it so that any stats effect the number of training points the creatures can have, i can see it being solely a CL based issue, it would be the easiest way to implement it and SOE's devs are notorious for taking the easy route.

cynical but probably true.....does anyone have a BE on bria/TC that can verify one way or the other?
