Thread: Frustrated with DNA Sampling, Death and Decay

Maybe it's just me, but I feel as though Death and Decay hit the BE exceptionally hard. Due to the sampling aggro, I constantly find myself getting incapped. When you're sampling anything big or winged, it's damned near impossible to get away from them quickly enough to avoid getting hit. Worse is when they stand or hover over you while you're incapped, and you find yourself down again as you're in the process of getting up. Lather rinse repeat, and you're back in the cloning center.

Common wisdom is DNA samples 10 CL higher than the target clone, and aggro DNA if you're creating a combat clone. IMHO, the aggro attack on sampling occurs far too often. I'm beginning to find myself losing interest in the entire cloning line, because of the difficulty in collecting DNA. Is it just me, or is this an overall concern to the BE community?

i agree its irritating but pick up a crate of food and chem tools and stick the armor in the bank and most the problems are taken care of.insurance costs are way out of line with the value of the items and the decay rate too high to do much else. sort of sad that there really is no way i will usemy ownenhanced clothing anymore.

My prices are based on a 5000c attatchment to each dna sample needed for the clone, hence even if I die twice from sampling that still covers insurance costs. Since only tools and clothing decays it's not an issue since I have people who are able to make new ones for free for me.

It's a simple matter to moderate the time between incaps, basically when you go down do NOT use stims to recover, let it heal naturally and talk to some friends or something to pass the time. Once you heal normally you'll find that you can get incapped right away again and again without dying from the 3 strikes within 5 mins rule.

Nothing you can sample is abile to kill you in a single hit or even two. As long as you start running away from the pack of animals as you are getting hit then you'll find they don't hover over you unless they're a species which deathblows.

I dunno where you heard that but the fact the animal is aggro or not has never effected the quality of the clone, only the CL rating really matters along with perhaps the stats of the species you sampled from as well it would seem. But aggro or none aggro has never made any difference from what I've seen for as long as i have been a bio-engineer.

I went dna sampling with my good friend ylidi'a only last week. She's got DNA4 and I have master. On the whole I found that she was failing alot as we sampled CL53 Arachne Widows and CL60 Queens but aggro was exceptionally low. What I did notice is that the animals were very easily spooked by her so she couldn't sample more than twice from any one animal. I'd say the problem your having is that your sampling a single animal far too much, even with DNA4 you shouldn't attempt to sample more than around 3 times.

I dunno what sampling levle your at but there's every chance that if your getting alot of aggro your sampling from animals which are too high for you.
