I like playing a class that is now down to only 2 lines of 4 broken and not the full 4 we had 2nd big patch ago. In other words I like having pain to myself. It the only thing I can think of

- chose BE to make an army of eopies to take over the world

- I like making eopies in the hopes of taking over the world

- many people will buy pet deeds made by a BE and take them to a creature handler for training. Animals are not the cash cow for bio-engineers like they should be. Mounts have added a boost to creature sales but its still bitter sweet. Creature handlers have the clear advantage in the animal market.

- BE is a crafter's crafting class. That means we make products used by other crafters. They use our products to enhance their own products which they can sell for much more money. If you enjoy spending a lot of time gathering resources and crafting products you can make money producing tissues and pet medicines.

- Pet stim D's are cost prohibitive to make if you ask me but some people do make them.

- The only animal that has been "fixed" is the bol. It really wasn't fixed per sae. They just turned on babies that spawn in the wild which allowed our BE bols to work. You can not use the blurrg for anything other than furniture or sampling DNA.

1. I chose BE probably for the same reason as most of us out there: the ability to create creatures, that would potentially be better than those in the wild. However, since the experimentation step is bugged, this is not possible unless you are actually a Master and go through the tedious process of getting the right samples.

2. I still like the fact that I can create pets and pet stims, even if it is a bugged system.

3. Yes, I do make the pets mostly to make money. A lot of CH's out there are in search of gurrecks and rancors that are the best. However, I am also CH, so I'm able to use them as well.

4. BE is definately not a money making profession unless you can get your name out there as having good pets, good stims, and good prices. You are pretty worthless on your own. However, if you are able to combine with a tailor, you could potentially be rolling in the cash.

5. D's are not impossible, just aggrivating. It usually takes me about 20-30 minutes of fishing to be able to make one. Although the results can be incredible, Stim C's are much more worth the time, especially if you can buy the meat from some one who can hunt.

6. Bugged pets, one of the largest complaints of BE's. Why make a Blurrg that is unusable? Our only hope in regards to this is that it becomes fixed sometime. I thought I saw some hope when the bol was fixed, but as someone said before 1 out of 9 isn't a very good sign.

My best suggestion (if you do go BE) is to create another character on another server (a BH, Commando, or something more useful) to keep your sanity from the uselessness of BE.

Sorry for the pessimistic and gripe reply but there's not much else I can tell you as far as the benefits of BE go.

"Why did you guys chooce BE?"

I was young and stupid.

"What do you like best whit the BE Professions??"

The excitement leading upto each release when I envision my class might actually work. Reading the complaints of each of the x-BH/Commandos when the holo tells them to master BE and they try to gain sampling XP.

"Why make pets when you cant tame it and use it ( if your not a CH)? just to earn money?"

Pet deed are sellable on the bazaar/vendors. I still have 2 mountain krevols, 2 salt mynocks, a graul and assorted other pets I've never sold in my datapad because I couldn't be bothered to sit at the starport hawking my goods.

"is BE profession just a money making professions? can you use something on your self if your not a ch, tailor or a chef?"

BE is not really a money making proffesion. Sure you can make money at it but ... If you want to make money go play a WS. I've been one, its a lot of work but so is BE and WS make more money. (While its a slightly longer grind the materials needed are a lot easier to get and the work needed once your a MWS is a LOT lower). No BE is mostly just a broken proffesion. The good pet-stims are a pain to make. (fish meat, dathmorian insect meat) and require the help of a doctor for your sub-components. Lots of cash outlay before your pulling money in. Mostly good for helping your guild. By the way these plus pets are all you likely to make for yourself. If you do make money your likely to want to replace you own made pets with something a CH caught. (Mountain krevol, cowardly gurreck)

"Pet stims D? it seems imposible to make?! need to mutch fish, is that true?"

24 fish meat pet stim. I think you can probably pull about 200 meat an hour fishing if you can find a good watering hole and a good rod.

"Some pets are bugde?! are they been fixed? i tinking of mabt using the pets that is bugd on Clone Engineering I!"

Yes about 6 of our pets are bugged. It seems to be definitional that any pet that isn't bugged can be more easily tamed in the wild by a CH than made by a BE. The CH will be paid for taming it. (Through the mission terminal) and unless its a MBE the CH's wild version will have better stats. If it is a MBE the wild version will have better stats than something like 2/3 of what the MBE makes. That 1/3 will be better than the wild ones though.

When will the class be fixed? Soon the devs promised several months ago the class would be fixed soon. So it should be any day now . . . . Course you could probably go master WS and CH while you wait. (I did)

LOL! I am now. This mount patch forced creature handler on me. Well, it didn't really force it on me but my little blue brain is big enough to realize the mount business belongs to creature handlers. It also helps that creature handler is actually fun to play.

I crafted eopies out of yard trashanimal DNA and crappy resources. Its better than the endless micronutrient grind. Then I tamed and trained the eopies. Sad thing is I get tons more creature handler points for each eopie than I do BE points (100+ points for each command trained) in a whole lot less time. Of course if it was the other way around it would be called an exploit and fixed right away. Nothing comes easy for usBE's.Go figure. Anyway, I climbed the entire empathy tree last night.

I finally figured out a use for those low level animals and its something I can use myself

I'm a freak amont crazies. I actually wanted to be a Tissues Engineer. Unfortunately, there's not all that many things to make that anyone wants. Pet Stims (for which you need a doctor's help to make decent ones) & Vitality Packs, and some of the clothing tissues.

I really like making useful things that others can use that are in demand.

The only thing you can use yourself without being a CH, Tailor or Chef is pet stims, and that's only if you have a pet but aren't a CH, and don't already use medic stims.

I think I've made two whole pet stim d's. I don't even mind fishing, I just never actually sit down and do it. Too many other things to do. And I'm sure as hell not paying 50cpu for crappy fish meat on the bazzar.

Clones are just something else to make and see if I can do a really good job at it. I do have a carrion spat I made myself for a mount. It's absolutely enormous comparitively speaking, with it's 1.2k HAM. I'm ditching CH, though. If you're not going to master CH, there's just no point...and that's my view of it before the big 'change.' But yes, there's lots of bugged clones. Try reading the F.A.Q. that's sticky at the beginning of this forum.

In conclusion, the reason I had for become a Bio-Engineer over being a Chef hasn't held up after actually acheiving Mastery. If your reasons for wanting to be a Bio-Engineer aren't to make 4 clones after a lot of hard work (Kaadu, Carrion Spat, Gurreck and Rancor), pet meds and a few things tailors might use if they feel like spending the extra money for them...I think it would be a mistake. As the profession stands now, anyway. And as you may have noticed, we don't know when that's going to change.

Two words.... Fricken' Dr Moreau baby. (well 4)

I wanted a to be a mad scientist. I wanted an army of freaks guarding my secret base, hidden out in the wilds of some dangerous world. I wanted what a great many horror movies had.... mutant rejects of science hungering for human (and other) blood. I wanted mutant rancors, patroling my compound eating those who would dare to interrupt my experiments. I wanted to play chicken with creation.

So far, not what I expected. Right now my legion of monsters is a room filled with Puffy cats all twitching out of synch. But every army of freaks has to start somewhere, and while I haven't stared down creation yet, good taste sure has blinked.
