I implore you toask for clothing tissues that give Terrain Negotiation. Someone on the Scylla board was asking about it, but I don't think it exists.... yet!

if non-scouts hav 0 terrain negotiation a bonus to that skill wouldnt do anything. it would only increase it if the player already has the skill. now, im not sure if non-scouts have some amount of terrain negotiation or not, im just saying if they dont, terrain negotiation tissues wouldnt benefit non-scouts.

Actually not true.
Skills with just a +... (pistol accuracy, terrain negotiation etc.) can be raised from 0.
Skills with a / command (/healdamage, /maskscent etc.) will not be useable without first having gained the /skill first.

Actually what Keldarin told us was that you actually have to have a skill to gain any benefit from a tissue.

and that would not only cheapen the scout/ranger skill tree, it would make 144 skill points utterly useless, hey how bout living with your decision to be a non scout and leave the walking faster up hill to those of us who value the current skills system.

exactly, traig. you have to have the skill to benefit from the tissue. i guess we are interpreting that differently, but i remember reading that thiswas done to keep peoplefrom using tissues to bypass certain skillboxes (Novice Scout for example).we know there are major display bugs with the skills window, so i dont trust any tissue numbers there. aside from that, so far all the tissues, with the exception of the defense ones, have to do with skills, so it would be interesting to see what would happen with a terrain negotiation one. i think its a great idea and i even suggested it a while back, all im saying is that the addition of a terrain negotiation tissue wouldnt necesarily mean non-scouts getting to use it (maybe if everyone had +5 or something like injury treatment).
