I made samples of everything I could scrounge the resources for. The end resulting items for things like Devaronian Alipedine (I know I spelled that wrong) do NOT display the bonus. While I was making it and experimenting on it, I could see that it had a number that kept changing. I got it to about 20 of whatever it was (that was at Master level). The others, like Bio-Strength and suchlike, were similar. Micronutrient Supplements if experimented with the crap resources you tend to use while grinding get to about 16% (I think that would be for the duration of the food...so unless it's got a long duration already, pointless). I think I made one once out of good stuff for the hell of it and it got to 28%.

I made a Broad Spectrum thingy that was 66%. Yes, I wasted that much fish, but I wanted to see what it would do. It was crappy fish, anyway.

Never wasted any milk on the ones that require that. You must be kidding!

Point is, no one in their right mind will make the stuff. I didn't even try making the Cognitive Enhancer 'cause I'm not wasting herbivore meat on that when I can use it to make a Fear Release. And the Cognitive one is the one I'd be most interested in, as I don't care about my Health pool while I'm sampling DNA, and would give my left...um, arm (yeah, that's it!) to have a higher Mind/Focus/Willpower.

I recommend trying to finda bio-engineer on Chilastra and taking him about 3-5 items' worth of the resources needed to make things, and ask him (or her) to make samples and keep an eye on any numbers that change in the lower right corner of the picture of the item during the Experimentation process...and label the end resulting item with that number in parentheses or something. So you'd get Bio-Strength Formula (18) and know what the hell you were playing with when you experimented with it yourself later. I'm guessing you're familiar with Sinnyl's Bio-Engineering 101 which lists the general things the tissues do, and their requisite resources. Domesticated meat comes from humbubbas on Corellia, I think. Among other stuff, but I think that was a source for it. Hopefully you have a fishing pole and can get some fish, too.

Ok, I tried searching the forum, checking the faq, the web sites linked in the faq, and google. No dice, so I'll try just asking:

Are there any tissue lists that show an approximate value on the food additive tissues? The lists I've been able to find show what stats get buffed, but not even a rough estimate about how much. So a "bio-strength formula" gives +health and -action. Are we talking a 5-10 bonus? 100-150? Is the negative reduced with better resources / experimentation, or is it always approximately equal to the positive value?

Finally, the description for the "Macrosodial tetramate" isjust "plus food effectiveness". Does this mean a bonus during experimentation, a percentage or flatincrease on the food buffs, or something else?

Unfortunately, I think the BE food enhancement tissues are close to or more expensive then most of the foods they go into, often for very little net gain. Plus you have to be careful to match the correct benifits between the tissues and food. If you are smart you can get foods that get all the benifit from the BE tissues with none of the penalties (ie: the food has the mod that gets boosted but not the mod that gets penalized).

However, the cost of the BE tissues for food makes it very very expensive to use them in food.

In my opinion.

Hands down it seems the cognitive enhancer is the only chance of being marketable to chefs. Only the elite of the elite will probably pay the extra for a food with this stuff. The end product is definitely higher than 100 than it would of been. I don't have all the data yet since my chef friend is going to be running the experiments soon. As I mentioned in another post, the domestic meat you can get by farming the crystal swamp in Corellia for swamp and savage humbabas but even that isn't too great. I know he goes to some other planet to do it as well (I know Talus and Naboo are possibilities but I'm thinkin maybe Yavin). I hope the chef fixes to some of their recipes will also be taking a look at the corresponding chef tissues (though highly doubtful). And there is a big limit to the number of foods a chef can really make with the tissues to get the proper benefit. Maybe if the requirement was like 5 meat instead of 20.
