1. For food, breath of heaven is good. If you get a entertianer buff, I always perfered a musican buff over a dancer buff. Muon Gold is good, but its bets to use when you have a high concentration of critters you want to sample, so you can get the most of the buff before your stuck with the downer.

2. Skin does effect speed of the creature, but thats about it. For example, a gurrcat will run much faster than a gnort.

3. I am assuming your talking about when crafting, then I believe the formula is (power *.08) + 10 = damage. So if you have 200 power on your clone template it will have roughly 170 damage as a pet.

4. Sounds like you need better quality of materials. Can't remember what qualities you need though.

5. Try experimenting 1 box at time.

Thanks for the response. But it brings some new questions and comments. Pain in the arse aren't I?

2. Anyways if the skins affect speed does the dna as well? I've got him at cloning 1 right now and I don't know which critter is fastest but since I'm mostly just making them taming them with my character and deleting them I don't care THAT much and I'll eventualy figure it out, I'm sure. I just wish it'd say on the critter what differences it gets.

4. I'll try better quality stuff. For now I've mostly been just using what I can get a hold of so I can get him all leveled. It's a mega hard profession to advance isn't it?

5.I always experiment with just one box at a time (and for BE tissues it's just one box you can experiment anyway) but it still happens sometimes and it's annoying especialy when I'm doing the enhanced myoflex and I get a sucess on the experimentation and where the thing had been +5/+5 it becomes like +3/+4 that realy realy realy annoys me.

1. Most people like muuon gold. Breath of heaven or fishak will work, but is extremely expensive. Personally I prefer ice blasters. They are not as effective as the other stuff, but are cheap, and do give you a few extra samples each time before your mind is caput, and no downers.

2. skin does make a difference. Basically, a creature you make with a particular skin will act like the "wild" animal in every way except that it will have different stats. For example the running speed, whether it is agro or not, the "tricks"it will do, etc. all come from the "skin".

3. like the other poster said

4. That's just the way it works. Basically I'm sure it's a "game balance" thing. Giving people the opportunity to get +17 melee on one piece of clothing would be just to powerful. That's my assumption anyway. Quality of materials will affect how big a bonus you get (to both), but that ratio of stun to melee will always be about the same. You will always get around +1 melee for every +4 stun.

5. bug. not sure I've seen that before, but it's common for one to go up and the other to go down, and the message will either day "success" or "failure" I think depending on the amounts. Basically each stat is rolled individually.

Hey I've been messing arround with my fiance's BE character since he works too much and I'm wanting him to be able to make cool cloths for me to tailor with and nifty pets for my CH here's the stuff I'm realy confused about and could use some information on if someone wants to take the time. I know there's a thread for questions to the devs but if players could answer them I figure I'd have more luck

1. What do you all think the best buff is for dna sampling? Do you use food, entertainer buffs or spice?

2. Does the skin make any difference on your creature? Like if I made a nice DNA template and put it into a squall would it have the same stats if I put it into a Cu-Pa or whatever I felt like?

3. How does damage work? Has anyone figured out a formula to get the critters to do nice damage or are we still confused about that?

4. Why is it that when I try to make . . . shoot toughened fibers I think it is, the one that's supposed to enhance meele and stun defense I always get only 1 for the meele defense and then more for the stun one?

5. How come I could get a sucess experimenting on a cloth and both stats on it will go down?

Um that's all I wanted to know for now I apreciate anyone's help.

I have found that two rhyshcates (sp?) and one breath of heaven allows me to sample without losing any mind points at all. Unfortunately, it doesn't last very long and like a previous poster said it can be expensive. Also, I'm a big fan of muon gold. Mind buffs are great, but I am too impatient to wait the eight minutes to watch an entertainer for it.

The DNA doesn't appear to effect movement speed but does effect the attack speed. I actually found a some what interesting trait in my Razor Cat made from Very High Quality Grassland Voritor Tracker DNA in all slots. If I go around dant and pass near a Voritor Lizard Lair it will attack them on it's own about 1/4 of the time. Very interesting to me.
