I've seen the following experimental formula posted in a number of threads here:


One physique experimentation point gives

Hardiness Increase = [ F / (F + H)] x 140

Fortitude Increase = [ H / (H + F)] x 140


My first question is whether or not the values for H and F in the formula are the stats from the initial combine or if they are the new values after each experiment. Take the following made up values. Note, I've totally ignored maximums in the following.


Base Hardiness after craft= 500

Base Fortitude after craft= 100


First experiment point:

H = 500 + Round([ 100 / (100 + 500)] x 140) = 500 + 23 = 523

F = 100 + Round([ 500 / (500 + 100)] x 140) = 100 + 117 = 217


Is the calculation for the effect of the second experimentation point this:


H = 523 + Round([217/ (217 + 523)] x 140) = 523 + 41 = 564

F = 217 + Round([523 / (523 + 217)] x 140) = 217 + 99 = 316


Or is it:



H = 523 + Round([100/ (100 + 500)] x 140) = 523 +23 = 546

F = 217 + Round([500 / (500 + 100)] x 140) = 217 +117 = 334


(I hope my maths is correct :smileyhappy


My second question is whether or not this formula only works if you do it one experiment point at a time or does it also hold true if you get a Great Success after investing more than one experiment point in one go?


I started to check out this for myself last night but ran into a set of failures and crits. Doesn't that always happen when you really need it not to? Hopefully someone has the answer to these on the tip of their tongue. If not, I'll try and get to the bottom of it myself when I get back from work.
