Hi guys,

Many people come here asking what to sample at what level, but I have a different question-

What is the highest CL you can sample at each level of DNA sampling?

The reson I ask is that most people reccomend sampling trash at low levels then moving to adventure planets. I have never sampled any trash at all, at novice I was out in the wilds of Tattoine jabbing big things. The problem is that I can't remember what I could do at low levels.

Plus I have now got Sampling IV and want to know what the biggest thing I can go for to get the biggest DNA

I think the main reason for saying sample trash is that it gets xp faster. At the low levels you are better off getting a sample5 out of 10 times for 100xp (500 total)then 1 out of10 times for 400xp.I'm not sure about about the different levels, but i know that at dna II you can poke a Merek (something) king all inght and get nothing! I'll have to try him again now that I have DNA III

I think the way it works is that with increased DNA sampling levels attained, your chance of successfully obtaining a DNA sample from a higher level MOB increase. I'm not sure if there are any hard or fast rules governing this, but it seems to be the case in my experience. That means that at Novice BE, you could try to sample a mutant Rancor, but your chance of succeeding is extremely low, nigh on impossible. But there is a remote chance you might succeed. However, wouldn't recommend sodding off to Dathomir just yet, it will cost you a lot of heartache, Muon Gold and Vasarian Brandy.

At DNA IV I can sample a 56-58 after a few tries.

A 60 I cannot get a sample from, 17 tries and I failed every time.

I believe I started with Sharnaffs (35-38) at DNA II.

Theoretically you can sample anything at any level; however, your success rate, quality of DNA, and whether the MoB will agro you is directly proportional to your DNA sampling level. With that said, let me put down the list that I have come up with previously.

NBE - up to CL20 (LQ)
DNA1 - CL30 (LQ)
DNA2 - CL40 (A)
DNA3 - CL50 (AA)
DNA4 - CL60 (HQ)(possibly CL65)
MBE - CL75 (VHQ)

Anything over CL75 is not currently able to be sampled. Hope this helps.
