Thread: Quality of Nutrients

I am curious on the quality of Nutrients that everyone is producing... specifically the Broad-Spectrum Nutrients. Currently I am getting a Nutrition Bonus of 85. Is this decent? Should I be seeing better? And does anyone have any idea the importance the Nutrition Bonus plays for Chefs? Mainly, does one or two points really mean that much? Thanks for any insight.

I think 90 is max for broad-spectrum, but that would take perfect material. My best is also 85, if your lucky you may get up to 87. Most chefs want over 80 thats all I can tell you about what they want.

Thanks.

I make 86's, using meat with 901/893/513 OQ/PE/FL, 1000 OQ wood for the Flora, and a variety of different things for the Flora Food. I have meat with 948/987/919, but in rather limited quantities, although I'm curious what I could get out of it. Actually, what kind of things would you guys recommend me use that meat on, anyway?

My lights are in the low-mid 50's, usually 54 I think.
My mediums are in the low-mid 80's, did a bunch of 85's this weekend that I was happy with.
My Chef alt doesn't use Heavies yet, so haven't made those.

These make a HUGE difference to crafted foods.

As for what I use, Starsider had some GREAT fruit a short bit ago, so I got a LOT of 1000OQ 800/700 PE&FL stuff, combined with my other bests. Being a weak fighter, it's actually easier for me to get Milk now than Meat, so if I can find some nice quality Milk, I'll use that where I can even when it isn't specifically called for.

I am making almost 40 crates of 86 bonus nutrients a day (2 factories running full time).

I can make 87 bonus ones, but that would mean I have to use my meat into2 slots

Maybe a stupid question, coming from a master BE producing for a long time , but when I use wood to use for flora with 1000 OQ, it does not have PE and FL. Does that mean PE and FL are 0 (zero) or are those stats not considered when determining the final outcome? so:

A)
OQ PE FL
1000 0 0
1000900 900
1000 900 900
------------------ combined:
1000 600 600 AVG

OR

B)
OQ PE FL
1000 null null
1000 900 900
1000 900 900
----------------- combined:
1000 900 900 AVG

The Wood question is an interesting one and one I would love a confirmed answer for. With the results that Thuyker seems to be getting using the 1000 OQ wood, it would appear that the wood is either not being factored at all in the averages or else it is being factored at 1000, 1000 for PE and Flavor.

Anyone have any insight they wish to share?

well i get 87 Nutrients at 92% on experimentation and from what i can tell thats the max on the medium broad-spec so that whole 90Nutrient Max is wishful thinkn ... btw here is what i use for my broad-spec

Slot 1 - 995 OQ Wood

Slot2 - 1000FL/803PE/922OQ Fungi

Slot3 - 993FL/874PE/945OQ Carn Meat

so there ya have it folks the best u can get with the min on your resouces btw dont msg me im given up my MBE tired of everyone askn me for nonCH pet and Chefs Bitchn about additives ...

With any component without contributing attributes:

The attribute is counted as "null" and does not contribute at all to the finished product.

but

If you use all components without a contributing attribute then the "nulls" add up to 0.

Not the best explaination in the world! If you look in the architect forum you should be able to find this detailed (better than me), since architects hit this all the time when selecting chemicals for building components and harvesters. Lube oil is a favourite chem "substitute" since only it's OQ counts towards the finished product, Fiberplast (for instance) could go in the same slot, but it's more difficult to get a resource with high OQ, high UT AND high HR, etc.

The onlyregularresources this can be used with for BE's is to substitute wood for flora food in some tissues and nutrients (practically everything else is OQ/PE/FL). You can also play with things like lube oil in some of the lower level product "inorganic" slots - worth knowing about before you hit master (I use gemstones to make low level stims!).

Or the easy answer: It performs calculation "B"

Hm...

I've made around 50 or so full factory runs of light/medium/heavy nutrients the past few weeks,
and now i'm getting low on flora. The power on the nutrients are 56/85/115

I've previously used corn in the flora spot, but I haven't had any that had all 3 stast uber,
so I'll give it a go with wood next time I make a schem... should be able to give it a significant boost.

Think my output would be in the area of 58/88/118 as my other resources are near perfect.

Thanks for explaining, time to get me some nice wood with high OQ.

I got another question though, in my example I just took the average (since all stats count as 33%). But isn't it a weighted average? So is it:

A)

OQ PE FL
1000 null null
1000 600 600
1000 800 800
----------------- combined:
1000 700 700 AVG

or

B)

OQ PE FL
1000 null null (10 units)
1000 600 600 (20 units)
1000 800 800 (30 units)
----------------- combined:
1000 720 720 AVG
