Thread: PET FOOD ????
Your pet will eat any food that you can. Normal foods will heal some of the pets battle wounds (health etc,.) however there are also special "pet foods" that are similar to buffs but in food form. Speak to your local chef, I'm sure they could make some for you.
You can feed a pet just about anything. Rule of thumb, "Anything we can eat...most likely, a pet can eat as well". There may be a few items out there that can't be eaten by pets but, I have yet to come across one. The best thing to do as a Creature Handler, is pick up Novice Artisan skill and agood , "+15 Weapons, Droids and General Items - WDG"crafting tool.In addtion to that, you will need to pick up some hides and flora resources like corn, wheat, or rice on the bazaar or something.Open you WDG tool up, look at the tabsat the top, and select"Food" schematics. Once in the food schematics, findthe "Travel Biscuits" schematic and make those for pet food. This usually yields around 6 biscuits forpet food.
Also, your pet will let you know when they are hungry.....wait to feed them and your biscuits will go along way. You can also have a chef or artisan run a crate of travel biscuits for you if you do not decide to do it on your own. It should be fairly low cost and last quite a long time.
The forage potion is available to you as well. Once thing I noticed about this was the inconvenience issue with trying to find a foragable source. Many times, I would forage bait or something stupid that the pets couldn't eat. This was a waste of my time. Easier to go with the novice artisan and travel biscuits routine. My play time is better spent that way.

Go for Blap Biscuit. They give your pet a Health buff and are only consumable by pets. Also, I struggled with Pet Food for ages trying to figure out HOW to get my pet to eat it and not my nice Synthsteak buff for me. DRAG AND DROP. Take the food you want to give to you pet and drag it onto him. If you double-click food or use it from the radial menuor try to put it in your toolbar and click it, you end up eating it.
