Thread: Getting MBE is easy??

I've read a lot of people's comments that say Bio-Engineer is easy to master... how?? I started a Creature Handler/Bio Engineer on another server to play around with, and so far it has been fun. But as of right now, I have hit a grinding halt in both professions: it is almost impossible to get a good supply of Creature Handler experience, and Bio-Engineer is impossible to get grinding supplies from. Sure, I get the people who sell grinding meat and whatnot, but my character can't afford 5cpu for really crappy meat that I won't get anything out of, and let's not even talk about flora. The DNA sampling was really fun though One of my favorite lines to level up ever.

I've been playing this character for over 2 weeks now, and I'm only 2-1-1-2 CH 1-3-4-3 BE, and I think that's pretty good. So how do these people master it in a few days? Am I missing something? I followed the advice of a few friends and got a flora harvester, but it is still fairly slow, and pretty expensive. And I can't even get meat by myself. I need 20 meat for one lousy Nutrient Supplement, and I get like 9 from creatures that take my pet forever to kill.

I guess what I'm trying to say is directed at the people that say that so many professions are easy to master in just a couple of hours: Try doing it yourself, without friends giving you meat, without the millions of credits you probably have. It's not as easy as it looks, and it definitely isn't very fast.

I would say that it's easy if you have money, much like any crafting profession. If your fighting skills arent great, and you're low on cash, go to dantooine and bounce back and forth between piket missions for the milk. That's the fastest way to get grinding material without money I believe. Money is a good thing though, if you can save up for a fusion harvestor and a heavy flora farm, you can get more than enough energy and flora for both your grinding needs and selling the rest at good profits. You can pay for the harvestors in a week of their use. If you don't have sampling skills, you can just go find other peoples harvestors and set them up nearby. That works fine if you aren't looking for specific resources.

A couple of suggestions.

Milk works as "creature food" and you can gather it yourself quite easily, and in quantities that make for a good grinding run. Flora is no issue; find a high concentration of anything at all, drop a 10-ber Medium, and in less than a week you have all you need.

DNA sampling is the only "you just have to do it" part of BE, and it is not that hard to do; Yard trash near a city like Theed, then either pickets on Dantooine (which you can milk at the same time) or Faambas and Bolle Bols on Naboo (also both milkable) and you will get the experience quickly.

I've advised holo-grinders that have made master in 2-3 days, and worked with plenty of others; it really is not that difficult to get the master title.

The difference between having the title, and being a consummate master at BE is VERY different, and there is no quick way to jump that gap (thankfully.)

Hmm, never heard anyone claim this.

you should be asking the people that say this, if ease of becoming master is important to you.

1) I do not think it's easy... The crafting takes a LOT of time no matter who you are. To do it in 2 or 3 days, you can not care about the proffesion, and must use grinding macros - so why play the game?

2) Meat is not that hard to get if you areCH - CLUE - do not group with your pets, you will only get a 60% harvest! In 3 weeks I ahve collected over 200k of meat - partially because I am also working on rifleman, so it is a little faster, but use any gun and your pets and attack yellows.

I mastered BE in 4days, so I'd say it wasn't too hard. Its just like any other crafting profession really, except the sampling line is fairly easy to do. Took maybe 3hours to get the last 2 boxes running between 2 picket missions.

I found the hard part about MBE was giving it up, which I haven't done. I prayed for this as a holo, got it and decided it was way more fun than being a Jedi would be. I've been a Fencer and a TKM, killingstuff is fun and all but gets a bit tedious. Plus BEs are always in need for base destructions, sometime the hardest profession to find. I'm up to 26 base terminals done now!

And if you're hard pressed for meat, its generally not hard to find a rancor hunting team on Dath, atleast not on my server. You can craft as you wait for them to kill.

Just in case you didnt know, to get CH exp your pet only has to do 5% of the totaldamage done to the enemy... so you can just let the pet get 3-4 hits in on the average animal and then kill it the rest of the way.

This profession is a pain in the ass to master.

I'm sooo sick of sampling.

I have mastered 29 professions and nothing has bugged me more than sampling.

Huh? What does BE have to do with this? I am curious as I have been asked by several to do attend a base destruction. I'm really not into the GCW. How do I, as a BE, help take down a base terminal?

There are detailed instructions in the FAQ for base destruction.
