ok its Tuesday and im enjoying walking very slowly through the beautiful city of coralag. Within 5 mins of loging in I am bombarded woth tells for non CH banthas and cu pa’s every conversation I have with some follows the same lines:

punter: hi can u make me a cupa/bantha
me: sure I can make u a non ch pet with 4k health 3k action and 2k mind with 14% kinetic for 50k
punter: oooo but that’s 2 much I only want a crap one cant u make me just any old pet

so ive been reduced to a dna sampling monkey making banthas and cu pa’s fo 5k a pop.

Just to cap it all off I get a tell from a MCH can u make me a lvl 70 pet. Whooo im thinking a proper order that will actually test me. Sure I tell him wot sorta stats wud u like in it.
Him: high resits over 90% in elec, kin, heat and energy no vulns to anything over 500 dmaage, with knockdown and dizzy.
Me: hmmm ok I can do that might take me a while these mutant rancors have been a bit temperamental recently
Him: ok no prob how much
(ahh the killer)
me: about 450k depending upon the time it takes and how nasty the rancors are being
him: whine whine whine I cant afford that much whine whine whine I can get it for 200k

Gargh I want pub 6 back I had sane and honest customers back then, its like the devs have managed to publish madness along with all the other stealth changes they’ve made.

Ok back to the gnort sampling for the monkies

Just make you want and charge what you want. If you can't sellwhat you made then lower your price until you do or stick to your guns and eventually it will sell. Personally I just have a firm "no special orders" rule. Iestablished this rule after realizing that99% of the jerks who email you for something specialwill either fail to pick it up after you broke your neck making it for them orargue with you over the price after you have made it. The 1% of people that are cool about it are pretty neat interactions, but they are so few and far between that Isimply refuse to do it.

If somebody asks me if I can make a, b or c I just tell them I can and if I have any they are on my vendor then email them the wp. If you run around making stuff for people...especially at 5k a pop...you are going to just become angry and bitter. You are supposed to be having fun....not experiencing real life stress as a result of working your tail off for idiots who won't even remember your name in 10 minutes.

There is a BE calc on WARCRY.com

any BE pet less than CL10 starts at a base 30k

then adds for specials, armor, and figures in HAM.

I think it works well, but that is my opinion.

I think some of the better PET it prices are to low, so I always bump it, depending on what it is.

Clearly what the Master CH was asking for I would price over 500K just because of the pain it would involve making it.......

Master BE... you get used to dying.

Tuesday night I put 20 nonCH Cu Pa and 20 nonCH Bantha on my vendor at 50k a piece. This morning all the Bantha are sold out. There are still about 7 Cu Pa in stock. Looks like I will be very busy making more Bantha tonight. Its good monye for me and great merchant XP for my second account that pulled merchant as his third holo.

lol....I know exactly what you mean! It's easy to pull DNA from womp rats on Tatooine and make decent CL10 pets with 1100 HAM and intimidation special. I charge 25K....all day long....and that's cheap..probably too cheap for most otherBE's liking.Anyway, like the otherposter said, don't waste you time sampling trash to make trash pets for 5K...you'll get burned out and bitter. Have fun!

The CL70 sounded like a true challenge but, evidentally the MCH hasn't come to the realization of how hard it is to make something like that or how much BE'd pets cost. I get that kinda BS all the time..."I can't afford that...how about this much?" I politely tell them that the price just went up another 1K....lol. They will generally change their tune after that or they will simply find someone else...which to me....is fine too. I have had some bold ones say, "Ok but, you have to bring it to me if I am going to pay that much!"....haha! I am inthe Bestine Cantina...please pick up your pet here....I will have it ready when you get here....Thank You. 15 minutes later they come into the cantina, STEAMING!and ask if there pet is done.....lol! Yes it is....then I somehow manage to cancel the transaction a couple of timesjust to see how mad I can get them....rflmao! Then I send a/tell...."Listen, do you know how frustrating it is to geta/tell from you guys wanting something for nothing....I am fair with prices....the price is (x amount of credits)..and I usually give them the original price to pay."

There are several things that can happen in this situation...many of which Icould really give a ratsass but, the most important is a lesson ingame economics. If you want something special.....be willing and able to pay for it. I hate bums that want something for nothing. I love dealing with those that say....Wow!That's a little more than I expected and say that they aregoing to have to run a few more missions to afford that. I tell them that I will have it ready when they finish. It gives them something to work for andappreciatewhenthey get it. God...I sound like my dad when he made mework for my first car....lol.

Most importantly, don't get burned out!

I actually make two types of CL 10 and below pets - one is the VD/Hurton pup receipe that I found works well most of the time (or at least it did prepatch - not made any lately) those are pretty pricy. I ramp up their health and the rest of the stats are pretty miserable. People usually want these as tanks to absorb a little damage - god knows they aren't going to do any damage themselves.

The other line I call 'Cheap Seats' - and that's exactly what they are - very quick to make - practically nonexistant stats - but very cheap comparatively and in the mount models. The Bantha/CuPa phase will likely last oh - another week - maybe, that's about the length of time I pulled my hair out trying to keep up with the first round of mounts.

Thx guys for the words of advice it all just gets a litte to much for us all sometimes and a nice little rant just clears the air :-)

Just woundering whilst were on the subject of Non CH pets has anyone managed to make any of the old 6k/3k/2k pets recently? I tried the other night and they all came out at a max of 4k/2k/2k no matter how many generations i went thru, another stealth nerf?

I just got thru a day's work on Dantooine - the Vortior Dasher/VD/Hurton Pup/HP/HP still works just fine - I just max out physical and leave the rest be. Unbalanced as can be and practically no damage - but health comes out mid 6kish so they can make a so-so tank.
