Thread: Easy Money
Any way for an Artisan to get easy money?
I'm tryin to build a mining compound with only 4000 credits
money easy? not after this patch my friend. Save your pennys now.
Join a group, go to dantooine, do some creature missions with about 7-10 people plus creatures. With 7 people, you payout per mission will be between 3500 to 5000 credits. This is always gonna be the best way to make some cash.
For even more money, become best friends with someone that has an AT-ST. Just the 3 of you will make 15k to 20k each, per mission.
'scuse me if i sound rude but,
What do you mean by 'will be hard after this patch'?
Well harder to make easy money. No more 30k missions on Dantooine, which is how most made easy money with pets. Also, harvestor maintenance rates went up, and it seems vendor rates did again too. Along with the decay addition, it seems the devs are trying to cut down on the amount of credits in the game.
You should be able to make money with power and resources though. There are plenty of players that are trying to master their holo professions. Anybody with Architect or Weaponsmith is going to need a lot of resources.
Wow, they increased harvester cost and vendor costs? Ow... Figured they'd nerf the good payout missions. It's almost like the minute you find them, abuse them to death because you have little time before they'll just remove them. It's a nice thought to remove the money from the game, but I don't see how making poorer characters more poor good for the economy in the game, but instead add to the gap between poor and rich.
There's still ways to make creds no doubt. I just would hope that since those payouts will be smaller, people might bring the cost down on some of the higher items knowing that people won't be the big money holders they used to be. That is if people start showing up on the server *Eclipse* as opposed to dissapearing. I swear I see fewer people on now...
Try running artisan missions for creds, somtimes pulling a survey mission can be a good payout. Getting together good resources and selling them can be good, and as already mentioned, power for harvesters, good too. =)
Well, not sure how much has changed, but I'd be suprised if they'd reduced the payouts on the survey missions, so...
Back when I was an artisan I had two good ways of making money from missions.
One was to take two survey missions for a high concentration of a generic resource (e.g. Metal as opposed to a specific type of metal). The mission payouts are higher for a higher concentration, so stay away from those 45% missions and go for the 65 - 70% one's. Get both missions for the exact same resource, jump on a shuttle to the next nearest city and start surveying. Note, you'll have to be standing on the density required when you survey, it's not good enough to simply locate it in your survey tool. Hope this makes sense. When you hit the right spot both missions will pay out at the same time.
The second method was to run crafting missions between Tyrena and Vreni Island. If you're clever and a little patient you should be able to collect your components (first waypoint) from within sixty metres or so of the shuttleport. Crafting missions to Vreni Island tended to pay about double compared to anywhere else (1500 cr each from memory). When you get into the flow, you can get the missions, get the shuttle, deliver the goods and grab the same shuttle back again, picking up two more missions and still getting the same shuttle again!
Both of these two methods used to net me between 2000 and 3000 credits a run (after shuttle costs).
As I say, things may have changed as it's been a while since I was an artisan, but these were easily the best options for me. Try them out, they might work!
Hope it helps.

Here's what I used to do. First, run a few preliminary surveys in 2 or 3 cities using the shuttle port (you can take some survey missions along just in case) while standing directly in front of the shuttle port. Write down anything you find with over about 65% concentration. If you're in a city with more than one shuttle port, write down which shuttle port you're in front of.
Next, find artisan mission terminals close to those shuttle ports. Refresh the missions screen until you find a high-paying mission for a resource you found at one of the shuttle ports (not the one you're at). Take that one and repeat for the second mission. Just make sure the second mission has a resource that can be found at the same shuttle port as the first one.
Take the shuttle to the city with the resource and scan for the missions. You may have to wander a little bit away from the shuttle port, but don't go too far.
Just repeat this, and your money will steadily increase. The only limiting factor is the shuttle schedule.
Thanks chown2,
Hadn't occured to me to do it the way you described but I managed to make over 60k credits (granted I don't keep accurrate records) in about 4 hours or so following your method.
well there is a very good route doing crafting missons on corellia, Moenia to deeja peek that have pretty good payouts per mission. they go as high as 1400 per mission, but most of the time are about 1200-1390. the great thing about this route is that you get the same paying missions in both cities.
Basically I grab 2 missions at moenia for as high as I can get, usually about 1370. buy a round trip ticket to deeja peek which is 230 credits. craft and deliver the parts, grab 2 more missions from deeja peek around the same price and go back to moenia and deliver those. Rinse and repeat until you get bored.
now say you get missions paying 1350 each, each round trip you'll make 5400 minus the 230 forround trip tickets. Only thing is timing is crucial when at deeja peek because of the placement of the mission terminals, but if done right you should always be on time for the next shuttle when in deeja peek and the same shuttle when in moenia. there is also some times when you might have to wait on a shuttle, but never more than 2 to 3 minutes if done correctly. These are the times when Ieither finish crafting the parts I pick up, survey around the shuttle port for resources or since I'm a master marksman too i'll skip a shuttle trip in deeja peek to go and slaughter some hides in the veermoks cave just for a change of pace. You should at the least be able to make about 20k - 30k in an hour or so.
Now I haven't run this route since the mounts patch came out thursday, so I don't know if they nerfed the route or not, but I hope they didn't. As it stands right now, I have a brand new character on the naritus that has about 26k and isn't even two hours old.
Oops, did I say it was on Corellia.....just noticed that......I spend too much time there, it's always on my mind........
anyway, I meant to say naboo. Moenia and deeja peek are on naboo....LOL
