I would like to thank Tal-N, Sumorex, Talthazar, and countless others on their hard work to crack this new system. One thing I have noticed is Special Protection Resist seem not to fluctuate like Effective Resist do. In fact unless I use a Vulnerability to counter act the Special Protection I generally keep a high resist. Has anyone else noticed this? Or more importantly has anyone been able to control Special Protection Resist with more accuracy? Or switch from being an Effective Resist to a Special Protection? It seems as though armor is closely tied to this and I was looking for the actual break point. Thoughts?Think I'm on to something?Am Irunning in circles? Suggestions? Comments?

You are correct.

Special protections are derived from averaging the special protections put into each DNA slot in the DNA template. This is a weighted average with Phjysique and Prowess carrying the most weight.

Effectiveness resists are also averaged tom the DNA slots but effectiveness resists can be increased in the template when you experiment on physique IF this is acreature without light armor.

Vulnerabilities can potentially override any special protection or effectiveness resists or jsut drastically lower the valiue of the averages resist.

Here is they most important point: Special Protection and Effectiveness resists do NOT play nice together. A 65% special protection in Kinetic in Physique and Prowess mixed with a 20% effedtiveness Kinetic in the othyer slots can somewhow combine together as 5 or 6% kientic resist in the template and will nio longer increase with experimentation. It is generally a bad idea to mix these resist types in any resists that matters (Kinetic or Energy)

Thanks for that Data... thought I saw something there. I have been playing with Spiders on Dath and Endor and Quenckers and Pikets on Dantooine. From two different clones I receivedEffective Resist 20 ( maybe 25 )energy / kinetic and special protection 30 on another one. I placed the Effective Resist in 1, 2 and Special Protection in 3, 4, 5. The end result ( no experimentation ) level 16, 5k Health, 4.6k Action, 4.2k Mind, Special Protection 33% Energy / Kinetic. I have exact details I can put up tonight... however the Resistwent up instead of down like I was anticipating. Thoughts onthis?

Pickets are horrible to work with. Almost all effectiveness resists, they do come in handy for non-ch pets though.

Doh, I'm an idiot. Going over everything last night I forgot to note weather the clones had armor. Apparently one did and that is what happened to make the resist go up. I know once armor goes into a pet, resist go down... somehow I failed to realize losing armor would naturally make resist go up. So Piket DNA is not good eh... I'm shooting for a 20ish pet with stats close to the pre-nerf GSP and thought Pikets were the way to go.Oh well, back to the drawing board. Keep up the good work everyone
