Ok, I finally ground out Tissues 2 over the weekend and got ready to tackle my first factory run of B's. Here's my problem, the only Talusian Vegetable Fungus that can be found on my server has a horrible OQ rating. Do I forge ahead with the crappy fungus or wait for a resource shift in hopes that it gets better?

/wince I have a hoard of good Talusian fungi (also on Starsider). I'd be willing to sell some at what I'd consider a reasonable price considering it's extinct (more than 3 cpu, but not exorbitant) if you can't find any elsewhere. I had a heavy flora harvester going for a while when it was good.

It depends on how crappy and what demand there are for pet stims. When I was first able to make pet stim b's I had the same problem, the fungus had an overall quality of 80 . My stim a's were better so I didnt bother collectin any of the bad stuff. However if demand is high and stim availability is low u may still be able to sell them.

Your probably not going to like my answer but . . . Got a bunch and use it to hand-make pet stim B's (Hence getting the PX which you won't with a factory run). Then either hand them out to friends/guild-mates, use them as a pass into high powered hunting groups or give them out as freebie with the sale of pets. (I highly recommend getting into the kaadu market now). I'd recommend holding off on selling the stim-B's by themselves until you can get them upto about 600 power.

Use up your low OQ stuff now. Get the exp from hand crafting. Sell it if you can to buy more low quality stuff. Make Master faster.

There is a minimum cost for a B or C, which is the cost of the subcomponents. I buy all mine in bulk from a master doc, and it costs me around 500 creds for enough for a B and 800 for a C. Add in power, maintenance, travel tickets and other resources, and a B costs me about 650 creds to make. If the end quality is so low I can't sell the stim for enough to make a fair profit, I wait for better resources. If you are making your own subcomponents (and are not a master doc) your quality will be severely limited anyway.

Talus fungus finally spawned on Chilastra with 950 / 950 OQ / PE after being terrible for two rotations - the planet is practically paved in harvesters right now :-) It makes pet Bs with around 850 heal - I think it tops out around 900. I would wait for better resources unless you are crafting for exp - they will show up eventually.

Thanks for all of the answers, I have a hoarde of the doc subcomponents that are quite powerful so I'm going to hold off on crafting these until they shift into a better quality.
