Thread: Reclusive Cavern Spider Queen, Why're You Hiding?!

Ok, I know these are on Dathomir, but I've never seen one. I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction, as far as a general area to start looking for them.

In the Spider clan cave listed on the POI tabs, btw you'll need an army to get down to her since there are triggers in the cave which will make the spiders aggro to you reguardless of any maskscent. So you really don't stand much of a chance getting down there.

Ranger Cammo and patience got me to the bottom and I got 4 samples out of 7 tries from her.
That's where I got the SS to post of another CL70 to sample from.
Granted I got incapp'd 2 times while sampling.

You got 4 samples? OMG! How the hell do you get more then 1 or 2 samples from a hich CL critter like that before they die? Are you talking about the queen at the top of the cave or the one at the bottom?

I believe we were talking about the one at the bottom with 8ea "a reclusive cavern spider" sitting around her trying to break Cammo/Mask scent. 
also has a nice Junior Kryat Dragon (some large lizard anyway)skeleton sitting down there.
I musta got lucky, I waited 2 minutes between samples and 10 minutes after each incapacitation.

Yea i sampled her too, was a pain in the neck to get to. High point of my DNA sampling career....then i cancelled my account.

I think this DNA is great, you can make some pretty good creatures with it.
I my experience (must have collected nearly 50 odd samples over the past month) you can, if you are lucky,mask scent 3/4 of the way down until you hit one of those 'aggro' triggers. I usually then burst run as far as I can down to the queen peaceing like madand hope I dont get deathblowed. The stuff in the cave seems very temperamental when it comes to deathblowing you.
Its possible to do a straight copy of the queen (minus poison spray of course) but forget experimenting too much else you shoot way over CL70. A more productive way to use the DNA is two pieces + three pieces Mantigrue Reaper. This can give you roughly 12k HAMs, 50% kinetic & energy, 25% heat and 35% all others no vulns, 550+ dmg, strong poison + ranged attack. Using three pieces of queen allows you to get the damage to 600 or more.

i dont understand why you cant harvest when you kill the creature after sampling it. logically you should be able to no?

...yeah but logically getting shot though the head with a T21 would kill someone outright. Reallife logic and gameplay are not compatible and never will be.
