Thread: Soon to be BE

After much searching, I can no longer justify doing the "Mission Grind" in order to get Holos. I've come to the conclusion that I'm just going to master every profession I can, until I get the magic email. (I've already done everything there is to be done in the game.)....that being said.

I've been playing SWG since April. BE was a class that I've been interested in, and I have seen problems with the class even before I got the drive to want to master the class.

Being that I will be new to the class, my plan is to record very detailed things. Problems, Ideas, and ways to make things better with the BE. I know that this class has been hashed, re-hashed, and triple-hashed to the point that it looks like a smothered-covered from Waffle House....but I think that it'll be good to have a fresh set of eyes on the case.

My idea is simiply this. Occasionally I may have a question. (though probably not many), and I would like for those questions to be answered as unbiased as possible. (and in most cases I'll try to keep them to yes/no questions)

Then once I make master, I gather my findings, put them ni a report style form, submit them to the boards and "T" for review. Not that they'll be read, but I feel that BE has a LOT of potential to be a really great class to play, and I fear it's not getting the love it deserves.

Would the BE community be receptive to this?

I don't know what hashing and rehashing you are talking about but we are still waiting for our first hash. There is a list on the top of this forum for suggestions to improve BE, none of which that I know of has ever been implemented by devs. But new ideas and suggestions to the list are always welcome. Maybe a dev will read it some day. Maybe I'll log on today and find my FS slot opened. But a dev getting a good fix for this class is probably the same as me getting my FS slot...just don't care. But we do enjoy talking to each other about how cool BE could be, so welcome to the BE forum.

Is it just me or is everyone other BE disturbed by all the lesser <mount type> around? I was able to geta Bol full grown in a little over 48hrs (possibly the first one on Starsider)and couldn't sell it anywhere near the price people are buying kaadus and spats and lesser whatevers at. This is the only real money I have made on mounts. Did sell a number of pet deeds buttheyare babies and people want the full grown thing a whole lot more. But with all the CHs having a lot more money, the crates of stims and vit packs are going like mad. If only there was any type of feeling of satisfaction in selling pet supplies. I felt happy after selling my Bol for like 30 seconds, until some CH pulled out a lesser Bol and sold it for more.

Sorry for the rant on this post... /rant off

Hello folks. I just wanted to introduce myself to the BE community. A friend and I were hunting on our main server when I mentioned how I wanted to do BE, but not on the main playing server. We spoke about it for a while and decided that we'd continue playing our main toons. We'd also spend a few days a week on another one doing other professions. So, as of today, I have a new toon on Radiant that will go Master Swordsman/Bio Engineer/Novice Artisan. I understand that the profession may pose a challenge from time to time. Since I don't know much about the profession at this point, I'll be coming to this forum all the time (much like i did for ranger, tka, pistoleer, smuggler...) Anyhoo, ta ta for now.

Hi and Welcome,

I'm in the same boat as you, I have decided to become a Bio-Engineer/Creature Handler on Infinity and will be spending alot of time on this forum getting to know peeps and learning lots.

Well to start with my advice is definately become a Master Creature handler in Addition to being a Master Bio-engineer.

That way you can use what you make.

With the left over points, get a combat skill, untill you Master Bio-Engineer and Creature Handler, then when you get enough resources where you feel comfortable, dump the Combat skills.

COmplete the Scout Tree mastering iut, and take some ranger skills.

I am trying the Cover ability from ranger myself to see how ell it works.

Some people are using Tracking...but its up to you.

So anywise...this proffession is probably the most fun proffession to try, but you have to go and risk your characters' life everytime you sample something.

Thanks for the advise. Camouflage in ranger is effective, but not right away. When I first got it, it snapped all the time. But as you move up the tree, the more effective. When I got master, i would be able to run circles around nightsister dragoons without getting detected. Running passed kimo's would yield success 50% of the time. I also got a factory specifically to punch out crates of HTFB's and camo kits. Anyhow, I'd like to keep the combat profession. On the bria galaxy, I've gone all along killing whatever I wanted (almost everything) without needing a pet to tank, so I'm not worried much about being a CH. Unfortunately, with the combat profession and BE, I won't have many points left to do much else except for maybe surveying and business.

Also, I forgot to mention two of my friends from briaare going toaccompany me. We'll be a good team. I'll make the components, andone can make BE clothing, and other can make BE armor.

Keep in mind that BE is a expensive career to start with. Lots of overhead costs if you do not have enough supplies for yourself. It takes about 200,000 units of meat and about 100,000 units of Flora to maybe grind the whole thing in a long period. It will take a while to grind no matter what you do. This also is just grinding meat. The High Quality supplies for pet stims needs to be collected or purchased at generally a high price tag.

That's the beauty of having a combat profession. When I was doing ranger, I was always selectively hunting creatures that yielded high OQ hides and meats. For instance, I would spend a good day or so on Tatooine killing banthas if their hide's OQ was 948. I'd spend many days on dantooine kiling pikets. At one point, their hide and meat were +900 OQ. I was turning around and selling it by price cutting. Probably made 100k a day selling. I'll be utilizing the same technique this time. Except, this time I plan on using it instead of selling it. I know it won't be easy, don't get me wrong, but there aren't too many things that can't be done solo if you have the right ideas. I'll also have hunting buddies.

Once I can afford it, I'll purchase 2 high capacity flora farms and just collect. I won't be BE right away because i'll have to get to novice first. So, it'll be a while for me.
