Unless you like spamming the attack command as your pet runs from a Durni, ignore them. Plus they lag like an SOB...

Cats are the way to go, IMHO..

Master CH on Intrepid

As a CH and also a BE but not BOTH on the same character:

I tend to focus on Razor cats and Nargs since they can keep up with a speeder.

Tortons, faambas, kimos, grauls, and all the other Large varients while are impressive for the "look how big my pet is" effect, honestly tend to get caught on trees, stuck in doorways, traped between houses.

Of course this only applies for creatures controlled by players, SWG world server controlled kimos rarely if ever get caught on anything, and if they do they tend to just warp to there target.

There's something about controlling a lizard the size of my house that I just find appealing. On the other hand, they do have problems with running around, as do all of the larger pets. Somebody conjectured that this is because the larger pets have a "desired attack range" larger than things smaller than them, so they back up, but their target just encroaches again. This sounds like a reasonable explanation to me.

Cats also do have the advantage of being able to keep up with your speeder, and smaller models tend to get in the way less on group hunts. At the end of the day, the stats you see in one BE pet can be put into a different one, so just picking the one you like the most might be the answer.
