Thread: Pet Levels and HAM, BE vs Wild creatures

I hear that the BE profession is still bugged in some ways, but I figure this would be the best place to ask anyway...

1) Is it possible for a BE to create a non-CH pet with more HAM than a wild pet of that same level? For instance, my lvl 10 kaadu has only 900 HAM. Will a BE kaadu at lvl 10 have more than that?

2) What is the practical limit on a non-CH, BE pet? Is it possible for a non-CH to control a pet with one HAM bar at 8k? (I've seen it)

3) Why do a lot of BE pets have HAM bars of such different sizes? I'm going to guess it's because the BE chose to migrate all the stats to one bar...just a guess.

Oops, I guess it IS possible if I've seen it. What I mean is, is this within the normal mechanics of what you have seen so far, or is this an anomaly.

Since they foxed a couple bugs inthe clone crafting system, the practical limit is 3k health on a nonCH pet. The pets you have seen with 8k health are pre-nerf pets which will be fixed. They hotfixed in a restriction to make those pets un-callable but the hotfix restriction turned out to be too restrictive and disbaled a lot of Creature Handler pets so they removed it but they have stated that in the next publish these bugged pets will get their stats adjusted. Its quite possible that the 8k HAM pet might get adjused down to 900HAM while the 2500HAM pets we can make now will remain fine.

Sorry, forgot to answer the last question. Yes, the reason BE pets have uneven HAM bars is because we only get 10 experimentation points (no skill tapes for BE ) and to get low level pets we have to spend a good bit of those carefully tweaking the health which is the most important. To get the levels low we have to re-sample our clones which causes a drop in all stats then we experiemnt back up the important statsbeing very carefull to keep them balanced enough to stay below CL10. Having lower mind stats can allow for higher health stat at the same CL. It is especially important to keep Mind lowbecause it affect the DPS of the pet by increasing the tohit value and higher DPS pushes the pet over CL10 as well.

To make a higher ham Non CH Pet there is usually a drawback of sorts. Yes they will generally be higher than a wild level 10 pet but there are costs. We can get just about as high 9k total to Health, Action and Mind. So for example I made a Dewback with 6k of Health, 2k of Action and 1k on Mind. The damage was 50. The only real suprise to me was the +20 to Kinetic. Most of these Non CH pets have next to no damage compared to the wild and usually not much in resists unless we get lucky in experiments. People get upset if I don't have pets like these in my Vendor without really understanding the rare chance of it working. When I do finally get one to work and drop it on my vendor it sells in a day or so.

Ah, thank you both of you, you've clarified it well for me. It is good to know that these high-powered non-CH pets aren't going to be grandfathered into the new system and become these awful "pre-nerf" items lending an unfair advantage to players who happened to have them. Thanks again
