Thread: Question from a BE back from a long break

I hit master BE awhile ago, and played for maybe 2 weeks into the "big fix" patch. Since then, I've been enjoying a new character on Valcyn, but now I'm back on Shadowfire with my beloved BE. Just gave up Master Ranger, and am working on CH now..i guess making all those pets for other people got me jealous 
So anyway...I made a Kusak. Nothing special. Clvl 10. About 540 Ham. No armor, 1% resists. Crippling Strike and Mild Poison as specials (no ranged). With CH 1/0/0/1, I can't use this pet. Says that I lack the skill to be able to tame it. But my taming wild creatures skill mod is +15. Why can't I use this pet? Am i failing to undestand some or all of the new CH system, or is there a bug in BE that i'm not aware of. If the stated clvl of a pet is x, and it's not vicious, ferocious, etc, then don't you just need a taming mod of at least x to use it, and that's it? What am i missing? This not only confuses me as a new CH, but as someone that had a good grasp of the BE crafting system a month or so ago.

I'm almost positive that Kusak's are aggressive, that is probably why you can't call it.
In addition, there are a few threads that show different ways for creating better pets (than your 500 HAM). 2 to 3K HAM CL10 pets are possible.

You answered yourself with that one.

The Kusak is an aggro mob skin. You'll need Taming Viscious +10 to use it. So Taming 2 i think it is.
