From today's release notes:

  • Changed chance-to-tame formula for creature handlers to ensure that you have a chance to tame and can call any pet that you should be able to tame according to your "tame level" skill. You still need at least some Tame Vicious Creatures skill in order to tame or call aggressive creatures. In general, if your tame level is 70, then you should have a chance of taming and be able to call any creature up to level 70, without additional skill bonuses from species or skilltapes. Tame bonus, tame wild animals and tame vicious creatures bonuses will still be useful in taming creatures in fewer attempts, but will no longer make the difference between being able to make the attempt

  • Sounds to me like they just made the taming tailor tissue obsolete

probally, as I used to be a MCH, the tissue really never showed much of an impact before, My opinion, bring back mymetric circutry and kill the taming tissues, with cover having such a high failure rate , mymetric circuitry would be nice such as reducing the spot radius or something. I very valuable and not unbalancing tissue.

Please deve give us mymetric circuitry back!!!!

The problem that was cropping up that prompted this change was that many of the highest level critters were uncallable after being tamed if you didn't wear your taming clothes. Having a level of 70 didn't seem to mean much when attempting to call a level 65 boar wolf.

Supposedtly taming tissues will still increase your chance for a successful tame, but of course we don't get to see how the "rolls" are affected by it, that's all hidden from us, and so without any transparency there's no way to know if taming clothing actually makes it more likely to succesfully tame.

I found that taming tissues also increase the chance that your pet will successfully learn a new command.....course that could just be serendipity, but I got that impression anyway
