I took it apon myself to go out into the universe and seek out my old haunts to see how different things really are. The past few days since my return to SWG have been spent on Tatooine trying to figure out how to fight again and playing with sampling DNA and failing miserably to make pets of any use. So I decided to go to Endor for fun.

So, what's up with the massive difference in CL now from before. Venom Filled Arachnes are level 80 now. Which brings me to a point. The higher level aggressive creatures have always been able to break out mask scent and whatnot, a la the old Mutant Rancor. I just ran up to a pack of these guys and started to try to sample. No break of mask scent, not even an alarm or anything. So have the "rules" on mask scent changed or was I just lucky?

Also, is the limit at where we can sample still stuck at level 75? Not that it really matters, I suppose, since I can make a level 175 creature from blending DNA from 2 level3, one level 53, and 2 level 14 creatures. But, I trired to sample the VFA I found on Endor and nothing. After 10 tries I left to explore a little more. So, has anyone else been out and about just observing and messing around with stuff to see what limits there are?

Well you have to remember that mission lairs are going to change the level of the creature....you need to find wild lairs to get meaningful DNA. Sampling (and taming) from mission lairs is still buggy, as the game has trouble deciding what level the creatures really are

Aaah, but I am far too much of a sissy to get a mission lair like that on my own and I was not in a group. So far as I can tell, it was a wild lair. So, I am guessing from your response that we are still limited to level 75 creatures as far as DNA sampling goes?

AFAIK you're still capped at 75. And it was probably someone else's mission lair, I meant. I doubt very much that anything wild is CL80 on Endor, besides the uber mobs like gorax and blurrg raptor etc

Ah, well then I suppose the reason why I could walk up and kick a CL 80 and not break mask scent was that it really wasn't a CL 80. Guess I need to wander more...

I'm new to the be profession, i'm master ranger too.
I love walking around in the wild and today i collected some pretty DNA (VeryHighQuality) on Endor From Gurrek and Disease blurg..
All were blow level 60. I started trying a level 77 and no way to get his dna, really no way.

So a question.. i'm level 67, does this means i can't collect dna from moob higher than me?

And another.. i crafted a Sharnaff with this nice dna, i got a lvl 167 pet, a friend of mine MCH can't tame that..
Is this intended ? is there a way to get pet working at least for level 70?

There is a CL cap of 75, you can not sample from anything higher no matter what your level is.

Pet crafting is totally borked...STILL We're still waiting for the Devs to fix it. Look around, there are a few recipies starting to hit the forums.

Hi,

It took them 2 years and multiple BE nerfings to get
to where they were (which wasn't perfect).

Then they change the system and start again with as
many bugs as we had to start with. Have a nice 2
Years of beta testing and creature nerfs.

Good luck because you will get no love from the Devs
,only nerfs.

I was in a hunting group on Endor the other night (well, not me, another avatar who has some combat capablity!) and the five of us, mostly level 80s, took down a level 81 gorax in about 70 seconds flat, give or take 10 seconds.

It was, frankly, pathetic, totally unlike the EPIC battles with gorax in the past, whith near-master commando and MCM toons.

Master BE, 12 point Master Chef, novice Creature Handler, enough to call a large chuba. Would you like some DNA sprinkles on your pikatta pie? Vendor located at 3129, 2843 in the Daragon Mall 2km east of the Keren starport
