Hey all! I stopped playing in 2003 and I thought I'd give it another chance.
First I don't expect my old character to still be there (but I can hope) after all the patches have downloaded but even if he isn't I'm going to go back to being a bio engineer.
Can anyone tell me the major changes that have happened in the last year or so?
Thanks!

Wow, not a single reply...
BE's sure have changed since the game first came out. We used to be the most nerfed profession but we stuck together like glue and helped each other no matter what.
If this is what being a BE is like now, I think I'll respec completely...

Well, stick to the highlights then. Don't bother telling me how much the CU sucks, I could tell that 5 seconds after starting combat with a blue creature (I was lying on my back looking at the pretty stars not to mention the tweeting birds).
I really just wanted the highlights of what's happened to BE's in general.

ok. well at first I hated the CURB...but its grown on me so i'd suggest giving it a chance...
Most changes to BE have been rechanged in the CURB so Ill just give u an overview of everything we can do in the CURB
Tailor Tissues
These have changed now (Except 2 of them). they are all still pretty useless but the melee/ranged def and the unarmed dmg/terrain negotiation sell pretty well. (But these require milk and eggs respectively)
Chef Tissues
Same as they were Pre CURB but it seems that MSNs are now selling more than INNs...Chef food is a little less popular, but is more broad in choice. No longer Brandy/Ahrissa or Brandy/Canape. Also with the new harvest by level rather than creature things like Dom Meat are a lot easier to come by...its now just as easy as other meat to harvest so things like Carb Calcoric Converters (Or whatever they are called) are now a possibility.
Pets
A lot has happened to pet crafting, and its all been inthe last publish so all the info is freshly scattered around the front page...but basically it seems that the higher the level/health the better the pet is and that because of CL affecting amount of dmg taken that it is beneficial to have 1 high CL pet rather than twins or triplets...but this is a bit contentious and some still swear by multiple rather than single pets. Read around a bit. (Oh yeah...pet stims are useless)
Meds
This is where it gets interesting...ALL Doc and CM crafting was moved to BE! There has been a lot of people upset on all sides of the fence, but it look slike its here to stay. Enhancers barerly seem worth the effort as they increase duration...but if Docs are now field medic style people then they can just buff at any time! (CM enhancers may be a little more worthwhile, but I am unsure on this. Because of the insane resource costs for enhancers in general, and the fact I was Doc/BE pre CURB means I am sticking to Doc stuff rather than CM stuff.) Instant Stims are usable by anyone on a 60 sec reuse timer. They are pretty popular and come in A-Ds which are level dependant.
I am sure theres plenty more I've forgotton, and of course If u were here pre BE revamp then all the above still may not make sense...Im afraid I became a BE afterwars so am not sure what the difference was...
