"As your character progresses through the skill tree, (s)he will learn certifications for certain weapons and armor types. Until your character has that certification, you cannot equip weapons or armor of that type."

So, with buffs being far less effective and us not being able to use good armor... I have a bad feeling regarding our futureDNA sampling high level critters.

Oh, and for all you BE/CHs like me. Evidently CH is not a combat profession (although Doctor somehow appears to be)so we don't get armor or the scaled health mentioned by Blair. Yay...

Granted, I could very well be overreacting, or maybe all advanced professions get the armor certs and upgraded health (yeah right!). I'm just saying it doesn't sound too promising for us.

Doesn't bother me a bit. I sample via the brute force method and I think it is just as effective as any other way. I don't wear any armor and nothing but crappy clothes. If a creature agros me, I let it kill me. Sometimes you don't get db'ed sometimes you do. Doesn't take much time to jump out of the cloner, get on your bike and be right back where you were sampling.

Myself, I set my pets on guard (I'm also Master CH and have an alt with Merchant to sell) so if they agro, my pets jump in and protect me.

I just need some Mask Scent clothing to reduce my chances of being detected (this has not been easy to find for a Wookiee).

I survived the CU

My pet wookiee was able to DNA sample without armor or buffs just fine.

You'll still have your mask scent clothing correct? So maybe jawa beer isn'tall that anymore and maybe brandy isn't all that anymore (bet the chefs have their panties in a wad over that one) based on speculation on the "in development" forum.

I never wear armor. I've been able to get mutant rancor DNA all the same. I have been able to get mutant rancor DNA without jawa beer. I have had to sit and rest my mind because I didn't have brandy and still was able to get mutant rancor DNA.

To be honest, the documents we have all seen and read are just words. They are an indication of what the developers have in mind. The game may go that way and the game may not. Everything else is just speculation.

Besides, it's a video game. It will be, and has always been, a video game. Like it or not....

You're not allowed to say that either.
