Thread: DNA Tree

I've managed to get all crafting trees and the 1st box of the DNA tree over the last few days, however I am finding the last tree increasingly slow to get.


I have gone through all the guides and etc but have failed to find any clues as to what I should be sampling.


The 1st box was done walking around outside theed, and I have been doing the rounds on Talus,..... can someone give me some idea pls as to what I really ought to sample?

ur on second box? i did my second box on rori the tusk cats and tortus and my third and fourth on endor.

Pikets on Dant. Get 2 lairs as close together as you can and run back and forth between them.

I've just finished grinding the DNA tree for the third time and I tell ya, it doesn't get any easier.

I found the DNA tree the easiest to get. I am currently at 3/2/4/2 and haddropped some DNA in order to get Master Medic for the Phase 1 FS Quest in the Village. When I first got BE, I just tried to Sample everything I came across. Iwas sampling tortons and greater sludge panthers on Talus by my second box. Sure, I failed a lot, but my successes were worth it both in terms of xp and the DNA I got.


Edit: Am on TC5 hunting right now testing as I had forgotten what I Sampled at the lower levels... I started on Corellia near Coronet... my results:


Novice:


  • Diseased Vrelt 110 xp

  • Scavenger Rat 110 xp

  • Vynocks 119 xp

  • Noxious Vrelt Scavengers 129 xp

  • Crazed Durnis 129 xp

DNA Sampling 1:


  • Humbaba 199 xp

  • Dire Cat 168 xp

  • Female Dire Cat 129 xp (could probably Sample these at Novice)

  • Mottled Wrix 210 xp

  • Deranged Wrix 210 xp

DNA Sampling 2:


  • Razor Cat 254 xp

  • Female Razor Cat 254 xp

  • Swamp Humbaba 221 xp

  • Gronda 221 xp (at this point I became bored with the Corellian creatures and moved up to Dantooine)

  • Huurton 210 xp

  • Voritor Lizard 254 xp

  • Voritor Dasher 346 xp

  • Piket Longhorn Female 346 xp

DNA Sampling 3:


  • Piket Longhorn 430 xp

Other creatures that I sampled that wereequal toor lower xp thanthose I sampled at an earlier stageinclude:


  • Gurrcat 129 xp (Sampled at DNA Sampling 1)

  • Krahbu 129 xp (Sampled at DNA Sampling 2)

  • Razor Cat Cub129 xp (Sampled at DNA Sampling 2)

  • Carrion Spat 129 xp (Sampled at DNA Sampling 2)

  • Dwarf Gronda 158 xp (Sampled at DNA Sampling 2)

  • Huurton Howler 287 (Sampled at DNA Sampling 3)

Please note that these are creatures that I actually Sampled at the given levels. The way I see it, any creature that is worth an amount of xp equal to or lower than the highest xp for one level, can be sampled at that level.

There is actually quite a bit on this topic in the FAQ. At the very bottom of the "Guide to grinding" is a link to a recent thread that furrycat posted. Also under "pets" there is a link to "dna sampling limits". I think if you read through both of those, you'll have a pretty good idea of what you can sample for xp.

Anglers and Klikniks are plentiful on Yavin. That's where I did mine. Always managed to fill up quickly.

for the last tier I did it on grauls simply because I could sell "graul" stated pets alot more plentiful than yard trash, also I took my guild out with a couple rangers to mask me and made a show of our "poking thrill" That still makes me laugh every time I kill a rancor by poking it to death.
