Thread: Hmm...why i get resist on EVERY slot now?

Morning !

Am i doing something wrong or has the latest patch screwed something again ?

This is what im doing:
DNA, all resist values on the samples are zero, null.

I use the same DNA in every slot, making a generic DNA template.

The template comes out and says ZERO (null) resist on all where resist COULD be, again: It says ZERO.

But when i build the PET, it comes out with a resist off +1 on every "slot" where resist COULD be.

Needless to say that u wont get a L10 pet this way....UGH !!

So, any1 else made this experience since today, or am i doing something wrong ?

Tnx, Kyrios

I suggest instead of using DNA with zerio resists, try using samples that are vulnerable. When you place the template on the skin, the creature will add +1 to all zero stats. This is the experience I've had.

OOHHH...i see. Honestly, i guessed that already, "Zero" and "Vulnerable".

Thanks you all, helped me much !!

There's a bit of an increase on effective resists when you put them into a skin. I've seen anywhere from 1-4 points. This is normal and to be expected. Use DNA with vulnerabilities if you don't want any resist there. The only time a 0 would be useful is if the critter has armor.

I forgot to mention that. Yuppers.

I got the same surprise when I recently made a low-level non-CH Bantha. I went out and sampled the first lower level creatures I could find (vynocks). I made the template and it had 0 in all resists. When I actually made the bantha, the resists jumped to 1 on everything but stun. Luckily the final CL was still 10.

IMHO, the straight vynock clone makes a not-too-bad little mount for non-CH's not looking for something "uber." Around 1K HAM, 1% resists to everything but stun, and even stun as a special (ironic, no?).

This is why I love BE. Everytime I think I've got something halfway figured out, there's another twist I hadn't considered. It's frustrating at times, but also very rewarding.
