This started off as just an experimental way of making a decent cl10 pet. I got a spare cl11 mishap of the b0rked VD-VD-HP-HP-HP 'reliable cl10 recipe' and I resampled it. I then arranged it into a new template with Merek Harvester, Mottled Wrix, Hurton Pup DNA.. This gave me a very nice cl10 pet with 33% kinetic and about 6k/3k/1.7k HAM. I thought that this was very interesting and I proceeded to resample and generationalise it using Merek Harvester DNA and Dwarf Nuna DNA (hey, I was out of Hurton Pups).
By the time I had go to the 4th generation, I had managed to get a cl5 dewback with 58% kinetic and 8.5k/3.4k/2.5k HAM which can be seen HERE. This became a very interesting project indeed as I had noticed that fortitude was incredibly close to 500 and theCL stuck firmly at 5 (minimum level for dewbacks). So I resampled it and reusing my recipe, I managed to create a pet with 60% kinetic and Light Armour.
"Success!" I thought while I was waiting for the outputter. So i got all excited and I put into the slot with the flora and meat and what do I get? See HERE.
I'm puzzled. Is there ahardcap on light armour? If so, this is very disappointing as I wanted to flood the trade forums with exact replicas
I wanted to be hailed for my genius and flooded with cash. Ok... no I didn't, but I am just a little miffed that I had to use 15 MH DNA samples only to have pushed the envelope to the very limits.
Whats odd is that the two DNA samples are almost identical, and even the pet with no armour has fortitude over 500.
So do I win a prize?

Hm. I guess that means that light armor adds 10 levels to the creature. I think if heard that somewhere...

Of course the big question is, are either of those freaks tamable? hehe

Hah even if it did work i doubt you could tame them / use them...in fact the ones you made now probably aren't usable. Or if they are won't be usable in the future.

I just realised that it would be possible to get the pet with light armour down to CL12, using a skin that has a minimum level of CL2... that would be one fine novice CH pet.

We've been discussing this recently, think this should get some air.

You tried that with a L2 skin? As yous said, that would make an amazing Nov Ch pet if it hits L12.

I've got about 100 MH samples sitting around. I keep intending to try this and see if I can verify CL 12 but making other pets and working on my TKA has been eating up my playtime lately.

Halthron seeing as we are both on the same server, if u like we could team up and try to do this together. It would prob take less time that way (I myself am a final year student and have lots of work to do), although I have to admit I dont have 100 MH samples to offer
only about 10 left atm
