Thread: Armor on pets

I seem to be having an issue getting armor to stick. When I read the FAQ, it leads me to believe that no matter what samples you stick in your template, if you get the fortitude to 500+ you'll get armor.

However, I've gotten it to around 600 on occasion and no armor. I know some of the samples didn't have armor, but is that important? If so, do all samples need to have armor in order for the end result to have armor? If not, which slots need it? And is this a requirement in addition to getting the magic # 500?

I've got some v ery nice samples I'd like to use to make CH pets, but some of the donors didn't have any armor. Getting to 500 won't be an issue with them, but I need to know if I'm wasting my time with them or not?

Thanks for any advice.

Are you sure that you are not accidently reading the hardiness scale by accident? 500 fortitude will only never giver light armour in extreme cases. If you are going way passed 600 then it could be either a server or client bug. Wait until the server restarts and then try again.

This explains it. *sigh* I feel a bit foolish now, but at least I know what I'm supposed to be looking at, instead of a different number.

Don't feel foolish, Zhundult. I've gotten Fortitude over 500 many times without getting the armor. The ONLY way I've ever gotten armor is if the first 3 dna's I put into the schem have armor! And I am talking Fortitude! Of course, I haven't tried it "lately" with all the changes, so I'll try again.

you sure you mean fortitude, not hardiness? Post some screenies, fortitude over 500 should, always and by definition, yield armor

Meh don't worry, I was doing it for a while. Exact same question I asked my Master when I first did BE.

yeah but thats only 502....close enough to consider that a rounding inequity, not a hole in the armor system

That is a sample taken from a pet whose template had a fortitude close to (but did not attain) 500, thus not having AR1. An increase in fortitude from a template used in making a pet to a sample taken from that pet is not unusual.

Samples don't count, as previously noted. I'd need to see a screenshot of a finished template with fortitude of 500+ with no armor. Every single time I've hit 500, it's gotten light armor. I'm not saying it won't happen that way but I'd want evidence.
