Hello. I respec'd to BE from doc, so have really no idea on prices for BE nutrients and the like for foods. I made some broad spetrum nutrients with nutrition bonus 85. I play on eclipse server, and really have no idea what to price these at.

I guess as well, I have no idea which of these BE food stuffs to even make. What do chef's most like, and whats good stats on them?

Any insight would be appreciated

Speaking from a chef's point of view, you'll want to make MNS's (micronutrient supplements), BSN's (broad spectrum nutrients), and INN's (intelligent nanonutrients). These are still the most popular tissues for foods, and they are listed in order from light to heavy, in terms of what we turn them into. Less popular, but still very sought after is multisaccharide tetramate (sp), but because of its high milk usage, it can be very difficult to mass produce.

Generally, for usable micrronutrient supplements we want the bonus to fall anywhere from 55-58 (60 being the best, and damn near impossible to attain).

Usable broad spectrum nutrients range anywhere from 85-88 (90 being the best).

Usable intelligent nanonutrients range anywhere from 115-118 (120 being the best).

Oftentimes, chefs won't want anything below the ranges I've given you because the benefit they provide would put them under par for their finished products.

As far as pricing goes, you may want to try it on a CPU basis. Calculate what you spent for all of the resources (and if you want to get into the nitty gritty, you can calculate the factory time into the cost as well), and then tack on whatever profit margin you'd like so that you can make money and still keep in line with the rest of the BE's on your server. Speaking of which, doing a little comparative shopping never hurts. See what other BE's on your server are charging and try to keep in line with that. Remember that undercutting doesn't really benefit anybody but your customers, and will wind up with the other BE's possibly resenting you, and you being overworked trying to fill multiple orders from chefs. Undercutting is a really easy to way ensure you burn out quickly.

Best of luck to ya!

From the BE perspective - you'll never get a Chef to pay you what they're worth...lol.

The prices very from server to server and based on stats.

Chefs will pay 600-800k for the lights, 900-1.1mil for mediums, 1.2-1.4 mil for heavies. The other additives always go for a lot more because they use things like milk and domestic meat.

If you divide the price Alesk gave you by 40, that's the price per crate. (Full runs of tissues are a total of 40 crates, which equal 1000 single additives.)

BTW, nice jab at the chef profession there, Alesk. I've always spoken highly of your profession since I rely on you guys for my livliyhood, but I suppose it doesn't go the other way. While this may not be popular to say here in the BE forums, tissues are worth what people are willing to pay for them. Anything beyond that is your own perceived value. I will say, though, that in terms of resources used and the cost of those resources, BE can be a tough profession to make money with if you're contracting out all of your hunting. However, if you hunt your own meat and harvest your own resources, you're making nothing but pure profit and it's a profit that you can live comfortably from.

Oh, and Alesk's price range sounds about right. I haven't ever purchased a full run of high quality tissues in all the time I've been a chef, but the range he gave you is very reasonable.

As an aside, if you're interested in making schematics for people rather than having to procure all of the resources yourself, you can have your customers provide you with the resources they'd like to use in their tissues, and you can take 5 minutes to craft schematics for them. BE's sometimes do this for free, but others can charge anywhere from 50k to 100k per schematic made. It's a quick way to make some cash, especially if you hook up with a high volume chef like myself, who usually has 10+ schematics made at a time. Then again, some BE's have qualms about this because it makes them feel like schematic factories for the chefs. It all boils down to what you're comfortable with, but as I said, it's probably one of the easiest ways to make money for very little work.

I can't sell anything but full 1k runs of the normal light, medium or heavies. Only the filling or flavor enhancers sell in less than full runs.

With the volume I do, I have to contract out or buy from vendors the meats I need. Mostly I supply our guild Chef and he's rich. I make more than enought to supply all my needs and my Jedi's. But it would be nice to have a profit margine like a chef for a couple of daysI'm lucky if I get 5-10% even selling to someone other than our guild Chef.

BE's are never rich....most of us make enough to keep us in meats to supply our customers.

Servers truly do vary in pricing for things. I have come to an arrangement with one of Flurry's prominent chefs similar to the pricing that Alesk mentioned above. By watching my prices, I am able to make a nice profit at the prices we have established. Not as good a return on resource costs as making the new stimDs, but I have no risk of the product not moving when I put it on my vendor. I deliver to the chef and he accepts the offer within a day or 2.

I also have what I consider to be high volume and therefore hire out all of my meats and even the majority of my machine harvestables. By cultivating relationships with other players, I am able to hold my costs down and generally can get any product I need at a reasonable cost (3cpu for machine harvestables and 20-50cpu for most meats post-CU).

while on Flurry, don't visit Ojes Yobe's Liquidation Vendors just 800M from Theed starport on Naboo (neg5219 3419) - cause they ain't there anymore! They are now exclusively located in Mos Athens Mall

I pay my BE suppliers a constant 800k/MNS, 1.6m/BSN and 2.4m/INN, stats cannot be any lower than 55/85/115, respectively. Although it is just as easy to get the schematics made, that is 2 days of factory time wasted where you could be manufacturing foods and drinks
