Thread: Experimentation Point Question

I'm sure this is a dumb question but...


I see people talking about Weaponsmith's with 12 exp points. How exactly do you get that, is it 1 extra exp. point for every 10 experimentation? If so, how the crap am I supposed to do that exp skill tapes go for 1mil per point. Oh well I may be wrong but please let me know how this all works. Thanks

You're correct, it's +1 experimentation point per +10 points of "weapon experimentation" tapes. Those who have them either have a)friends who got them, b) more money than they know what to do with, or c) spent every last credit to get them. It's by no means easy.


But take some comfort in the fact that those extra two points make almost no difference at all. The difference translates to maybe 6 points of HAM, 2pts of ideal range, or 100 max condition on the weapon. Damage/speed will be the same assuming you have the resources. Most customers won't even know the difference.

I feel the same way but then you have customers that will take their krayt tissues or geonosian schematics to ONLY the 12 point WS's but I suppose i'll live.

Those high end weaponsmiths usually charge a fortune. Krayt tissue is hard to get so run a better deal. Here the best one i have come up with. Instead of the i take half you get a free gun deal most run. I make the same gun twice then let the provider choose.


Second master artisan. I have no clue why but haveing this mastered improves your weapons.


Third you might want to locate to a new market. Some areas are packed and though the money might be good. Setting shop in a less developed area can have serious bonuses in the form of more loyal customers. People will always go to the weaponsmith they trust. If you earn it early on it will pay dividends later.

Fallacy. I have been making the same top quality weapons as the other smiths on my server for some time now, and in have never mastered artisan.

Some things thatI make won't let me use all of my experimentation points, ...is this normal?, ..or is there a way to use all of them. I hate wasting 4 points of experimentation on an item, ..or is that the way it is supposed to be? Thanks for the help!

In order to use your experiementation points up, you need to be using good resources. The better the resources you have, the option to use more of your experimentation points up. So what you're doing is normal. Try it with better resources and see if you get the option to use more of the points.

I make a few things here and there and a lot of times I don't get to use all my points. It's just gated by the resources you use.
