Thread: New cloning system question/observation

I've been following the threads concerning the new cloning system on TC, and I THINK I have a decent grasp of the basics of it. But here's my observation: From what I can tell, my Techniques skill level is going to have no effect on the stats of my clones. From those that have been following the TC tests, is this correct or am I missing something?

?

Sorta capped on how high level critter you can get with your DNA sampling.

The higher that is the better chance of better DNA.

To make a Rancor or anything will need that level critter No more chuba into Rancor. (new and about time)

Them both have not changed. You will need the same skills to get upto the critters you want the DNA from. Will need more knowledge on what critters to get what DNA from to make to order pets. (GREAT!)

With DNA Sampling 4 you may be able to get high quality samples off of Rancors, but not Very High Quality. he chances of the Novice getting as good of samples will be slightly less than the Master.

Also keep in mind, that the Novice will not have much in the way of Experiment points to work with on the Templates. I'm not on test server, so I'm not sure how much the experiments raise stats now, but it must be noticable to discourage dablers.

I guess I'm just wishing that experimentation played a role in the clones. I'm pleased with the upcoming changes. Just wondering if we'll need the devs to fine tune it some once it goes live.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Yes, I understand that DNA Sampling plays a role in the level of DNA I can successfully collect. Here's my question...

With no levels in anything EXCEPT DNA Sampling, is there any reason an otherwise novice BE couldn't create a Rancor strengthed Kaddu?

It plays a direct role on clone engineering.
You have to experiment on the template to get valuable improvements.

The only place we lost experimentation where we used to have it is the final skin+template combine (and I still think that's an accident, but who knows). I too want to see something where you can have an ongoing track of final CL, I think it's rude in the extreme that you experiment on a template, have only your best guess on what CL that template is until you implement it.
