As the title says, where do you get fish from to make pet stim-D?

You have an artisan make you a fishing pole. Then you buy or /forage the bait. Then you fish. If you catch anything you fillet it. I don't know if you need the scout skill to fillet it. It's one of the choises on the radial dial for the fish. Once fillet'd you are left with a resource container of fish, some baitand a decorative fish to hang in your house.

so in other words it isnt worth the time nor the effort to get fish to make the Stim-D

I mostly don't bother with Fish until my Guild's home-planet's Fish has great stats.

Then what I do is get a few crates of high-quality Fishing Poles created and give them out to my Guild along with bait and tell them "I need Fish!"

It'll take them a few caught fish before they realize just how incredibly boring it is (Dev note:MAKE FISHING A FUN MINIGAME) but if a hundred of them do it, and get 20 or so Fishmeat each, I can do a small run of PetStimDs.

I also offer to buy high-quality Fishmeat at 50cpu. WIth the amount I can sell high-heal PetStimDs for, I might actually offer MORE in the future, like 100cpu for the good stuff and give out fishing poles and bait to newbs so they've got a super-easy way to make some cash and help me out at the same time.

It depends on how high you want your stims. I'm not sure what results other MBE are having but i'm getting around 1000-1100 heal on my C's and 1300-1350 on my D's, using fish with OQ~500. I personally don't think it's worth the trouble, but I had a lot of friends build aquariums in their houses and got the fish from them.

My high OQ+PE+Flavor (it's all three that are important, equally) Fish, doctor-crafted Advanced components and OQ900+ Dant Fiberplast made 1490x32 use StimDs. The difference between 1100 (my PetStimCs, currently) and nearly 1500 in combat is HUGE and somepeople are willing to pay top-dollar for them. And with how hard it is to get Fish, top-dollar is welcomed.

But people hate fishing, so I'm sticking with Cs for the moment.

if you read the schematics flavor is not even a requirement and there is a considerable difference between what oq and pe contribute to the stim. oq is 66% to both the charges and heal while pe affects only the heal. with highquality resources you can make stim d's around 1700 heal.

Not true by any means. Once you get the hang of fishing its actually a lot of fun. You don't get missions for fish so you don't get paid for your time (unfortunately) but you can get more fish quicker than you can harvesting animal resources simply because you don't have to run all over the place looking for the same animal resource.

You need a high quality fishing rod and shallow water. Bait your pole and cast. When you get a catch, walk up to your bobber. You will catch the fish every time. If the water is deep and you start swimming at anytime you will lose the fish.Shallow water is important.

A friend of mine made a crate of 99% fishing rods for me. If I run into someone interested in learning I give them a rod. Many people that thought fishing was stupid thoroughly enjoy it now. If someone gives me astack of good fish I get them pet stims in return.

No offense but I think your hunting the wrong things. My hunting partner and I can pull in about 8K of meat in a few hours hunting picket longhorns. My guild (10 person hunting party) does Krayt hunts and pulls in about 40K of meat an hour. I spend several hours fishing and am doing well to pull in 200 fish an hour. Thats at a water hole with ***** fish and * vegetation. On the plus side fishing is survival XP. If you know anyone trying to master scout get them to fish for there XP.

I was actually talking about one on one. As a bio-engineer soloing the wild its easier to catch fish than it is to get animal resources. Too bad you can't get missions for fish.

I agree a hunting party can pull in more meat as a group. I've been on group fishing parties that have done very well also. My bank deposit box has a large stack of high OQ fish that I'm hoarding now.

You must be a really good fisherman. Or a really bad shot.
