We started paying about 2 credits per unit towards the end of beta. There was a lot of over pricing for a long time, but 2 credits per unit sounded fair.

Try that and see if it works out for ya. The lower rates for missions and the lack of tipping to ents and meds are making it kinda hard for folks to pay more than that.

Rare metals, of course, will run a bit more, but probably not about 5 creds per.

I once saw an equation I really liked for determining resource price.

Take all of the numerical properties of the item, add them up, and divide by 1000, round to the nearest number. That's the per unit cost of the item. For example, crappy bones that sum up to 842 would sell on the market for 1 credit per unit. Some metal with a summed 7523 would sell for 8 cr a unit. It actually works out to be a pretty nice rule of thumb, though there certainly are exceptions.

As for tipping. I always tip for training (50 credits per skill level trained OR trading another skill of equal or greater value). That means I tip 200 for specialized baseline professions, 50 for intermediate baseline professions.

I'm not a dancer personally, but please, please, please tip dancers and medics. They do what they do because they like to do it, not because they're our personal servants. What they do also costs money, so any tips we can give them only makes it easier for us to heal in the future.

well right now that pricing doesnt make sense because bone is more rare than steel. And 2 cred per item is way cheap. I would say charge 4-5 creds per unit. If its rare or really good material charge 7-8, if its just regular stuff charge 2-3, but I would say atleast right now the middle ground is 4-5.

As for crafted items, I would use the same stuff from above based on how much an item takes, and then add on a little charge for making it (this would be your profit margin). So if something took 20 steel and 10 chemical, that would be 30 materials times 5 would be 150, plus about 50-100 for labour. And you would sell the item for 200-250, that seems about right to me.

You may also want to add in how common or uncommon it is.

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

We could have pure capitalism, like the real world (most of it...the parts that matter =] ) and let the market play itself...

Just a thought...

I usually charge 3cr for each item.. but that is when I craft stuff

For my housing pricing. I usually put down 3cr for each resources to figure out my housing price. I think it is pretty fair

I currently tip 1 credit per point healed. And an extra 50 if they performed really well. I look at it this way. I am not going to tip over 100 credits when I only ned 32 battle fatigue to be healed. *shrugs* But that may be just me. The the system when you think about it really evens out ot be a good price. Especially when an entertainer get's many customers through out the day.

*OH, and a heads up to those entertainer's that are just macro'ing to gain in skill and really is afk. I boycot the performance or watch or listen and then after finding out, I stop looking and don't tip. I like it when people actually work for their money and skills over ones that allow a keyboard (while they are sleeping or watching a movie) to do so for them. Just a personnal opinion.*

This question came up on another board yesterday and I'll say what I said on there, I for onewon't pay more than 5 credits for hide or bone. That hide could be off the gold plated hind quarters of a peko peko with ruby eyes and I'm still not going to pay more than 5. There are 10 times as many back room deals for hides and bone going on as you will ever find on the bazaar. I check the bazaar each day when I log in to see if I can find that one special deal that I can't pass up. I have 4 or 5 scouts who about every other day sell me stacks of 1000 of whatever it is I'm looking for. I tell them what I need and they go look for it. I know there are some hides out there that are uber, but not every planet has them and to be honest the effects between using the uber hide and the not so uber hide are not going to be all that noticeable except to a master craftsman (I'm not sure who else besides armorsmiths and tailors use hides) who has a lot of experimentation points. There are going to be those who say I'm wrong on that.

To get an idea of what a good price is you can do two things:

1) Yell/shout "selling hide/bone" near the crafting stations. See what you can get.

2) Check the bazaar. Find anyoffer for hide or bone in excess of 250 pieces that is more that 6 hours old. That is a price that is too high.

Asking here is not the best way to do it because I've checked the pricing from Naboo for the whole galaxy and I've traveled to most planets to retrieve hide/bone that I've bought and some planets are WAYYYY more expensive than others. No offense to anyone, but if someone here says 7-8 credits is a fair price consider that might be an expensive price on another planet.

Split your materials into batches of 200 (some buyers I've heard want batches of 100 but they don't have to pay the 20 credits to posteach sale)and put them up forauction on the bazaar at a starting bid of 1 credit per unit. If you can wait post the early on a Friday when more people are playing and make it a short 24 to 48 hour max auction. People don't want to wait a week to get materials. They'll just go to other sources. The artisan's that use them will have a better idea than you about the quality of what you're offering and it's rarity and can bid with each other to set a fair price for that server.

In another thread I had posted my experience.. I have found that 3 credits per unit will disappear in under half an hour.. 5 credits per unit will still go under an hour, and 10 credits per unit will go in a few hours (5 or 6 in my case)

I have also found out that certain metal types will be able to freaking skyrocket in price. On Tatooine there was no aluminum.. None, nada, zip. I tossed some up at 15 credits per unit and it went quickly also.

The trick to selling all resources is quantity. As for 1 credit per unit.. ummmmmm.. wow.. that isn't even worth the time and/or power consumed. 3-5 credits seems good for abundant material. people will pay up to 10. Given my experiences probably the lowest I would go in the future is three and only on quantities of 500 or more. as for one credit.. umm.. maybe for like 10000 units...

I've been charging 4 credits per hide on Flurry and they move at a very brisk pace.

Creating a price guide for player made items is impossible, prices vary per server per planet, competition levels for crafters etc. As far as hides and bones quality items i am always willing to pay a bit more for the items i need if it saves me some time going to that particular planet and hunting the creature myself etc.
