Thread: MOUNTABLE PETS NEED INFO...

Hi, it's from my understanding that in order to ride a pet, I have to buy it from a BE and have a CH tame it and make it mountable. My only interest is to have a pet that I can ride, nothing else.
1) Does it matter what level I buy the pet at?
2) What pets are mountable, which is fastest?

Mount Riding Rules:
Non-CH (those players with no Creature Handling skills) -can ride Creature Level (CL) 10 or lower mounts. These mounts are tamed and trained by Creature Handlers, or made by Bio-Engineers (BE) but will need to be trained by a Creature Handler with the appropriate skills.
CH (those players with Creature Handling skills) - can ride CL 10 mounts and higher depending on what level CH skills they posses.
Non-CH Wild Mountable pets (these are CL10 creatures):
Lesser Plains Bol
Lowland Brackaset
Lesser Dewback (I think this what it is called)
Carrion spat
Motley Kaadu
(I believe there may be 1-2 more butI can't remember what they are)
CH Wild Mountable pets (these range in CL from 12 to 30):
Kaadu
Cu Pa
Wasteland Cu Pa
Giant Carrion Spat
Brackaset
Banthas (all types)
Mountain Dewback
Humbaba
Savage Humbaba
(There might be other variants of the creatures listed or other creature types but I do not remember them)
BEs can make the following mountable pets from CL1 to CL70 but still follow the Mount Riding Rules:
Bantha
Bol
Brackaset
Humbaba (not sure on this one)
Dewback
Carrion Spat
Cu pa
Speed: all mounts run at the same speed but have different /gallop speeds. The "bird" types (Carrion Spats and Kaadus and their variations)have the fastestgallop speeds but gallop for the shortest distance (a little over 1k distance), and the "camel" types (Brackasets and Humbabas and their variations) have the slowest gallop speeds but gallop for longer distances (am not sure how long, tho). These are just from my observations. I am not sure where the Bols,Banthas, Cu Pas and Dewbacksfall within this scale.

Forgot to add "Kaadu" to the list of mounts that a BE can make.

Great response, for I was giong to make a shorter response. Yeah, if HAM or anything make no difference, the quickest way to make a pet would be to sample the yard trash outside starter cities... Throw some meat and flora with the template and you have a new, bouncing, baby mount.
