I don't know about these two specific attacks, but I've heard that if you give the command to the pet before they go into combat, that they do the special. For instance, make a macro that has /follot other;/pause 1;/knockdown (or whatever your commands are for "follow other" and the knockdown special are). This is suppose to help ensure that the pet attempts the special attack. Not all special attacks are obvious when they attempt then, and the attack may not be successful.

I hope this helps a little bit.

knockdown doesn't work

crippling strike doesn't work on creatures (and dizzy won't make them fall down anyway)

Actually -- they both do work, only its hard to tell since they don't pop up next to the HAM bar like stun, disease or dizzy. When you command the pet to knockdown or cripple, watch the target's "stance identifier" (not sure what its really called, but it shows standing, kneeling, laying, etc. and is to the right of the HAM bar) --- upon a successful cripple or knockdown the stance will change -- it won't last long, and you can't tell the creature has fallen, but it does happen and while they're knocked down at least they don't attack. You may have to hit the target with the attack a couple of times before it sticks but eventuallyit will stick. If you create a tellpet macro -- for example /tellpet attack1 (if that is your command for attack1) -- and hit the commandit every time it doesn't stick, eventually you will see this effect on the stance identifier, but not on the creature.

Pets have recently been fixed so that they will use most of the special attacks on command now. Unfortunately knockdown, poison and disease still do not work on command and ranged can only be toggled on, there's no way to toggle it off yet beyond storing the pet.

That would be such a waste,

I hope that your not throwing in the towel just because a couple of special commands don't work. If that was the case I would have given up a long time ago.

It's really easy to give up on something because of all of the bad qualities that you see in it. However, if you look very closely you will find a lot of good qualities as well.

For example: One of the issues that I'm currently dealing with is when I go into combat with a creature and it dies. I'm not able to harvest it, and I'm almost a master scout. How's that for a issue. It's almost as if the system thinks I sampled it's DNA. I tried both redial and /harvestcommands neither which has worked. Although, so far this issue has only been with Mother Thunes and Pikes on the planet Dantoonie but I admit that it gets pretty annoying.

I've already submitted two bug reports so I know that the developers will fix it soon... Right....

In any event, hang in there.

May the force be with you, always...
