Thread: CH wondering about BE cooperation

I'm a new master CH, and I have had few dealings with BEs so far. (I'm on Ahazi and a Reb, if you're wondering.) I was wondering if creature handlers can provide assistance to BEs in any way. Can BEs extract DNA from tamed creatures? I'm wondering if I could tame a baby rancor, for example, and bring the baby to a BE for DNA extraction. If this isn't possible, it should be.

Not possible. If it were possible you probably wouldn't want to do it anyway, as there is a pretty good chance of destroying any animal that we sample. I think probably the reason why it isn't in the game is to prevent BE's from "griefing" others by killing their pets.

In any case, sure BE's and CH's are naturals for partnership. The biggest things that CH can offer BE is training services and of course creature resources (bone, meat, hide) while BE's can offer pet supplies (stims, vit packs) and of course fresh pets when you get tired of your old ones.

Ha ha can you imagine, the BE role in the GCW out there sampling pets when no one is looking... lol now that they are nerfed doesn't really matter, but would have been hilarious last July.

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.

Interesting. As a CH, I would be happy to go find and tame baby creatures and give them to BEs, who would then in turn destroy them in the process of taking samples. The trick to doing it would be to only allow BEs to take samples from pets in their possession, thus preventing them from destroying other players' pets against their will.

The nice thing about this would be that it would allow the BE to give the CH a pet at a cheaper price (theoretically) because the CH has done the work of going out and getting the creature for DNA.

Just a thought from a CH.

It's not a bad idea, i wasn't making fun, it just struck me as funny. The problem is that the creatures we want samples from you can't tame, or a near inpossible baby spawns. So those instances where a CH could help with that would be far and few between or for low level BE's.

The best help a CH can be to the BE is in partnering to train pets for customers, since the BE is unable to do so themselves. Someone the BE can refer people to for non-CH pet training, or for training to "round out" the commands that a lower level CH can do is very useful.

Another thing that is a great help is "spotting", in which the BE and CH can share assistance to each other. As a BE I often work down a lair, and yesterday, in fact, sampled down several Bull Rancors, tapped the lair, and had a baby spawn. I tried to find a CH to tell about it, and didn't locate any at all. I am always trying to pass along the locations of rare babies, and I can nearly always use info about some of the things that I sample whenever I can locate them. Young Malkloc Plainswalkers, Bark Mite Burrower Queens, Mutant Rancors, Bull Rancors - passing a location on where you see one of these to any BE nearby can be a great help to us, as much as locations for rare and useful babies can be to you.

Lastly, we can always use feedback on our pets, and I often make pets specificly for some CH friends to see how they work out. There's nothing like an experienced CH to help me determine what's useful in my creations.

There's not much we can do directly of each other's profession-related tasks, but we can often find things to help each other, and a CH/Scout/Ranger is about the only one safe around us when we are sampling for important DNA, as so much of what we go after is highly aggressive, and without mask scent, you're a free lunch.

I got into BE partly because I was a master CH on another server, and I know the role pretty well. It is nice to see another CH that would like to do more than buy their next Uber Rancor, can I get it done before the shuttle leaves, thx...
