Firstly - dont sample in your armour

Steps to trouble free sampling

1. Invest in a good set of 70-80% Kinetic Ubese
2. Make an 'armour on' macro
3. Buy several crates of Vasarian Brandy, Vagnarian Canape's, Jawa Beer and synth steak
4. Make some Mask Scent tissues and ask a nice tailor to put them in some clothes for you
5. If sampling high level creatures doc buffs are recomended
6. Once you are at your lair equipped in your mask scent clothing, eat as many canapes as you can stuff your self with and wash it down with a cocktail of brandy and beer
7. Mask Scent
8. Approach creature
9. Sample
10.Notice your mind not going down at all

hehe, I was just looking at a nice set of kinetic ubese, but needed justification... guess I have it now :-)

Make a macro to put on amd off your armor. that way of you get aggroed without your armor on while sampeling you can quickly equip it.

I've used a 20% Kinetic low ham Ubese and or Chitin armor,

Like everyone says, Vasarian Brandy or Muon Gold.

Go naked though, you can't outrun death

Hi everyone, I'm currently at Sampling 2, and when I sample it puts a hit on my mind around 200 or 215. Is this normal? Cuz with my comp armor on it's really quite the hit, thanks.

take that back, I'm at sampling III

That's the normal hit, and you have to be over 250 mind to be able to take a sample.
Try musician buffs (they buff secondaries and increase the regen rate, so they can be more effective than the dancer's main-bar buff,) and the vagnerian canape', which also increases secondaries. That way you will regain the mind quickly.

You can also do a "stand-sample-sit" macro and hotkey it to maximize the regen, since you do not have to be standing to obtain the sample, only to "start taking a DNA sample".

Besides those things, Blue Milk and Vasarian Brandy, as some Muon for the times when you have drunk all you can and the great samples are just in reach from that rare creature. (carry some smuggler's delight and use it before the muon and the downer is 3 seconds long!!)

LLan

1) Leave everything insurable including your armor at home.
2) Wear Bio'd MaskScent clothing (+25).
3) Chug 2 Bio'd Brandies.
4) Go to work.

Ive got a set of Chitin/Ubese (Ubese Jacket, Chitin rest) all sliced for enc for sampling. The final HAM costs are in the 190-200 range across the board with a 65%kinetic protection to the Chitin pieces, and 75% to Ubese. Instead of Canape, I like to eat Ahrisa, which is a 400focus buff for 40 mins with 30-40 filling. I eat a couple Ahrisa's, a brandy for measure, and I take no mind hits even wearing my armor.
