Thread: Skilltapes and Poisons and Crafting! Oh my!

Hey guys, I've been browsing the forums for doctor, combat medic and bio-engineer hoping to find the answers to some questions about Post-CU crafting.

Before the CU details were announced, I was planning on having a Master Doc/Master CM template: mainly so that I can have fun with crafting while at the same time be of some use to my guild in PVP. Now that crafting for doctor and combat medic has switched over to bio-engineer, I will definately be taking up BE with my alt once I unlock it(which will be post-CU).

Some things I'm concerned about are as follows:

1) I have loads of skilltapes for Combat medicine experimentation and assembly and have noticed that there only seems to be medical experimentation in the bio-engineer profession. I want to craft poisons and whatnot, especially if I decide to go Master BE/Master CM but I don't know if the tapes will be of any use in the future. Any pearls of wisdom about this would be much appreciated.

2) I've read several different theories on BE and crafting: if I want to do all the doctor and combat medic crafting will I need [i]only[/i] the fourth tree of bio-engineer or are there other neccessary or useful skills in other BE trees?

I'm sure I have more questions than that brewing at the back of my mind, but I'm blank right now: please help me understand what the heck is going on because I really want to do plenty of crafting with my alt but I'm stumped on what template I should go for at the moment due to these confusions.

1) No one really knows... Some people are betting on CM tapes being changed to Med tapes...and are speculating by buying them up cheap. I'd suggest hanging on and hoping rather than dumping for a small amount of cash.

2) ATM only 0004 is needed to make meds. All EXP points are in there, as is the med schems. Other trees ARE useful depending upon what u class as useful. 4040 is the pet making stuff, and 0400 is the Chef/Tailor stuff. There has been plenty of discussion about docs dabbling in 0404 and being able to outcraft a MBE on tissues. there is a strong movement for the devs to put some of the more useful schems into Master to try and prevent dabblers stealing current markets. We don't know whats going on in the pet crafting, but assuming its like it is now, it'll be complex but rewarding.

Really stupid question here ... he mentions unlocking an alt. I thought that the new village system meant that your own character becomes the force sensitive/eventually jedi person and that there is no unlocking of alts now i.e we now only get one character per server regardless of jedi or not. Am I wrong on this?

Currently on live, if you become a Jedi Padawan, you get a non-fs alt. I don't know about post CU tho.
