Thread: 60% Kinetic Cap disappointing....
This sucks.
60% Kinetic Resist Cap ... the solo days are over for most mobs.
Sometimes I feel like SOE are used car salesmen, they promise lots but you never seem to get what you thought you were going to get in the end.
Since half of us have used the maulers, let's get serious for one moment... My Graul Mauler, was pretty much only actually hurt if what he was fighting had bleed or poison, other than that, he could pretty much stand there till the end of time getting beat on by half a dozen mobs. Just hit it with a decent Pet Stim B every ten seconds, and he was literally invincible.
Post patch, I can not only not call my mauler, he'd be pathetic if I could use him. But I can assure you that any pet with light armor and 60% kinetic resist, will be FAR from pathetic, no matter what it's HAMS come out to be, that is a mere 15% less resist than the old maulers had, which is still going to equate to a pet that can stand in there forever taking blows, unless what your fighting has bleeds or poison. Pre Patch, I was able to solo a Dune Kimo with a lot of kiting, and a Bile Drenched Quenker (light armor / 45% kinetic resist then) and the pet's you'll be able to make, are BETTER than that thing was (and yes, I am a Commando). My point is, if you can't get the job done with a 10K Ham pet with light armor, 60% kinetic resist, and a special like intimidate or stun, what exactly are you fighting? If you need a pet that's better than that (and a pet like that is easily makeable) then your either trying to solo Krayts, or you need to work on your own damage output.
At worst, the nerf is a mere 15% on kinetic and that doesn't even equate to 15% more damage taken on the pet per blow, and more importantly, most things you will fight got WEAKER this patch. Yes, FS NPC's got much stronger, as did a few other things, but in general, a MCH is now potentially STRONGER than they were before the patch. The ones that get hurt are the Non CH, and the lower level CH's, and even there, I'm seeing examples of pet's on this very forum, that are better than what was available before the patch for even those in that range.
CH may have taken a nerf in the fact that they will now have to BUY a pet, if they want the best there is... but since those pets they can buy are very capable, I don't see much haveing changed at the high end of the CH scale.

I don't think 75% Kinetic (or anything else) exists anywhere anymore.
Remember how the GSP used to have 75% resist to Kinetic?
Not anymore. Try 40%.
Every creature got changed, armor got removed from creatures below CL 40, and even the grauls were not exempt.
75% kinetic is on Merek Harvesters and Malkloc Plains Walkers.
Whether either is tame-able is up in the air at this point.

Actually Frenzied Grauls still have 75% resists to Kinetic. Also GSP's only had 60% before the patch. Although your comment about every creature below CL 40 has no armor is as far as I know correct.
All this talk about a disappointing 60% Kinetic Cap is unwarranted. I've been a MCH for 3 months and I can tell you the Maul Grauler was too good at 75% Kinetic. When you can beat anything in the game with a Maul Grauler there is a problem. So the problem wasn't the Grauler it was the insane resists of 75% combined with the light armor. Since almost every creature eventually defaults to Kinetic fighting when you attack, 75% Kinetic is too good (not to mention wielding two Maulers which was overkill). IMO 60% is perfect and should only be on pets that are CL50 and above.
