Thread: can BE's 'clone' an existing creature?

I used to be bio engineer about 2 months ago, and I remember that i used to make my critters, sample them, then make a new one, sample it, keep improving the 'strain' (of course, back then it did practically nothing, but it felt good playing frankenstein).


Now that this can potentially be the source of truly great pets, I want to know if we can take a creature and simply 'copy' it. No getting new dna or meats from different animals, just use the same dna from that same creature and copy it.


is this possible? or do we have to go back and get the same exact meat, the same exact dna's , etc etc to make just 1 copy which may or may not come out like the original?


i'd hate to go back to BE and make a really great pet, and not be able to clone it to sell it as 'my' masterpiece to CH's.

You can sample your creations and "breed in" better stats. I have read that the meat quality has no impact, correct me if anyone has proven otherwise.


I did this when trying to create a decent lvl 10 dune lizard for a guildy. kept getting lvl 13 critters with varying resists. So i sampled them and made a couple more...noticed i got some lvl 11s from them. Tried again and got the lvl 10 i was looking for with decent stats. and two specials.
