Thread: Bio engineer a craft fest
We apoligize that its going to take you so long to get through our awful little profession. Please dont allow the door to hit you when you surrender all your skills.
you see fodder why get mad at me for not wanting to be a Bio Engineer I am not the one who came up with this god forsaken system when I started my character I wanted to become Jedi, I thought My character after playing the game a certain way would become Jedi.
I am doing what i think is best I just think it sucks to have to do something you don't want to do. bio engineer may even be a fun proffesion but that still doesn't stop the fact that it is a freeking craft fest
I am not going to allow this to become a thread on how the holo system or why it does. SImply the holo thing was to force you to play all aspects of the game and understand all parts of SWG before taking the final step into the ultimate profession. That it has become a macro race and "he who has the most money" wins isnt right.
That said. BE is not about being a craft fest. Its not even about mastering it in 2 days if you want to be a BE. Its about learning each stage and each skill box. This is a thinkers profession. Its one that involves notebooks full of scribbles about how to get fortitude above 500 or why creature x is easy to sample. Where to put experiementation points ect. And thats just the creature side. Thats forgetting the food additives that we, im a Chef on my other character, would like to get our hands on as well. Its about boosting stats with better skill specific clothing. This isnt DE where you need to bea master to get what you really want. Heck this isnt even Chef where you cant make fishak until the end. Most of us BE's are here because we enjoy this grind. And find it fun to see the lives of the creatures at 15m or less. Or making that +15 mask scent cloth to keep ourselves alive.
I sit back amazed at the calculations that Tal-N and others post. Im not a math major and I only wish i understood half of it.
So take a second and think about what your doing in Bio-engineering. Think about the advantages and disadvantages of our profession. I dropped master swordsman and all my fighting skills to be a Master BE/Master CH and re-master scout because i want a mask scent bonus.
What the **edit** do you think you're going to gain by coming and insulting the profession that the majority of the people here have chosen?
There's a post right at the top for your kind. Read it. Grind your way through. There's even a macro in there for you. Read that topic, go grind to your next holocron profession (I hope you get BH, and it makes you quit), and leave the people who like the profession alone.
I got you Fodder I understand completely what your saying. But see it from my perspective I have NO interest in doing this 0..ZERO I don't want to understand the intricacies of becoming a master I want it DONE!!!!!
Some people like ham Some like bologna..... only thing I have learned since I joined the Quest to become jedi is to make macros and double click on my moouse with such speed I think my finger will cramp and get stuck in that clutching posistion =)
But hey if you find it fun more power to ya Its just like the Dev's looked into my soul and said what would you hate doing the most and BINGO they found it.
Ok this is for everyone including myself.
Take a deep breath and step back. We do not want to let our forum degrade any more then it has. SirVimes helped to get us Chefs back on track. Lets not let this get us BE's into an uproar either. This is the holo-grinders choice and its ours as well. Even when someone comes in and makes a comment that seems nasty we need to find it in our hearts to relax and act like adults.
Zen and the art of posting.
I believe Knights of the Old Republic is on the shelves. But this again proves what im saying. Your just doing the task you feel the devs placed in front of you to get the goal you want. And we who are in these professions full time are just defending our choices for being here. As well as the time it took us to get through it.
you see I am playing A mmorpg The same way you are to interact and (Roleplay) with other people in the star wars galaxy. So sorry can't do that in knights of the Old republic.
still My first thought is the same this proffesion is a craft fest
You know, my original question still stands.
What do you intend to gain from coming to these forums and insulting the people who happen to enjoy the profession? Do you think we're going to have some sort of revelation and say "You know, you're right. BE is a craft fest. I should drop it now and pursue something that I can AFK-grind, like dancer! Thats more condusive to the MMORPG method of playing!"?
As for this comment you made....

If you think you'll be able to roleplay a jedi... I don't know how much you've been reading on the actual class, but take a look and see if you can find the many posts about people who have jedi but don't even play them.
Starsider's resident Dark Jedi (yes he got that far... he's an actual jedi)... I saw him on his main character yesterday. I havent seen him on his jedi in a while. Several of them have quit.
You know why? Its a boring grind, according to them. A grind where you can't have anyone with you. A grind where you can't intereact with people because there are a slew of people trying to hunt you down and kill you so you lose all your grinding progress.
So have fun roleplaying a jedi in the wilds of endor, interacting with all the people you'll see 6000m away from anything in the middle of endor.
