Thread: Geez hold on to your socks folks
The devs already posted that this mornings fix for invalid stats is BROKEN and they are looking for the reason.
If you can't call a pet wait till they fix the problem, and I bet any pet you have made since the big shristmas patch will be callable.
The said this morning's patch is broken, so don't waste time trying to figure it out or deleting pets.
Assuming your pets become valid again, it's only a matter of time before enough people complain that the devs will choose to nerf them once again.

If they are going to nerf them, they should keep them callable and reduce their stats. Set a ceiling and drop the stats to it. That way, those people who wasted a bunch of money on them don't get completely screwed and the BE is not cast in a negative light by his/her customers.

lol - You just know the code is nothing but "spaghetti" code. I bet they use "GoTo"everywhere
.
I am a software developer in a very professional environment and can tell you, what I have seen go live, would never go live in a professional application. Maybe this type of programming practice is acceptable in the game world though. I have seen more sound code come out of dedicated high school students. I would love to get my hands on the source code and fix it for them. I bet it would be a total rewrite from the lowest level.
At least this is just a game and not your business software that would cost you real money. I am sure they think of it the same way and really don't care. Afterall, there is no real world pressure to do their job right. These are most like devry or ITT tech grads lol
lol

No this is in no way typical, these guys have more bugs out there than any game Ive seen.
As for graduates, half of them probably haven't graduated from anything but high school.
The rest are4 year degreessurely, which still doesn't say a lot.
Most programmers write horribly unmaintainable spaghetti code until they have 10+ years under their belt anyway, and don't even know it. And real world pressure? Most have no concept of the real world either until they have 10 years under their belt.
If your a software developer, have a think about what the system is (database transactions per sec, client/server code, graphics calls way above and beyond what a "normal" app would need), considerhow many millions of lines of code need to berevised, updated and patched into a new version every month and they actually do quite a good job on the software side.
Where they let everyone down is in their communication, but then, real programmers have always had that particular issue...

This would make me happy...considering i paid like 60k for a slice hound i wasn't able to call 3 hours after taming it. Some of us wern't aware that what you guys are calling uber cl10 pets were a bug, it was the first BE pet i bought, how could I have known it was an illegal stat pet?
