Rangers get levels, CHs get levels and so should BEs. Crying out loud....we are facing down some nasty mobs and usually getting incapped because we do not get the same benefits as Rangers and Creature Handlers. Have them go one on one with the mobs we do and see how long they stay happy.
I am trying to get master pistolier...but even with that it is just not enough. I have master BE and I attract every low level aggro mob in the area just trying to get to the mob I need. I am level 28 master BE who is walking, talking mob bait. One fail on DNA sampling and I am incapped mob bait.
We are not stay at home crafters...we are down and dirty, work with the mob BEs who need armor and levels.

something about this was mentioned to the devs at some point in time and they said that if BE's are in need of some kind of protection that they would look into it...i think we need armor certs, but in no way shape or form do i think we should get additional combat level becuz this proffession is a very crafting intensive proffession...if anything the only line that might get some form of combat level would be DNA sampling becuz that did put us in combat situations.

I don't know how any BE without at least one Elite Combat class can even survive on the higher planets anymore. As a CL60 template, I still die in three orfour hits on Yavin or Dath even with a full set of battle armor. Given that we are a class that is required to get closer to creatures than even most combat classes in order to use half of our template (sampling and pet crafting), it is a shame that we are so entirely vulnerable.

I went sampling dna on Yavin the other day. At the time I was CL 20s (working on MCH so my CL has gone up more), and I was sampling high CL critters like tybis, chokus, etc. I didn't have a problem because I was in a group and wearing battle armor.
My biggest complaint was that whenever I succeeded in sampling, the poor critter would die. So I only received one sample per creature.

We are not a combat class????????? Unbury your head. We are up close and personal with some of the nastiest mobs imaginable when they are ticked off. We fail in our DNA sampling and they are very ticked off. NOT TO MENTION all the red con mobs that we have to get past to get to our DNA mob. WE KILL MOBS...excuse me that is combat...especially if they don't die and decide they want to eat us. DUH

I never understood why two combat professions = lvl 80. It would have made more sense to me that mastering just one combat profession would get you to level 80, as that wouldn't totally destroy the diversity in professions (people are either all combat, or all crafting now, it seems).
