Oh yeah. Made this one as well, since Strong Poison seems to be on everyones wish list. It is a little weeker HAM/Kin. wise since I had to use a lower level critter for the Phys. slot. I could not get the strong poison to stick otherwise. I am guessing that it could also be because I only have accest to average and above average samples at this point.

There is no such thing as pets of the same CL rating being overall better than another, that is the point of the CL system to ensure they are all equally powerful. This is also why the devs are trying to remove these invalid CL10 pets because they break the system as clearly a pet with 3000/2000/2000 is weaker than one which is 6000/3000/3000. Pets are defined by what they specialize in however even so two pets which are made for kinetic tanking simply cannot exceed what is allowed for their CL rating. Therefore there is never a 'best' for a fixed cl rating.
Pet A has 50% kinetic and light armor with vulnerabilities to everything else. Pet B has 20% to everything and light armor. Both are CL30. All other stats are identical.
Pet A wins hands down in melee combat compared with pet B, score 1 point for A. Pet B wins hands down in PvP compared with pet A, score 1 points for pet B. Total score, 1 all. Pets are equal in terms of overall game power.

That is a very neat and tidy example. Only problem is, I have two lvl 17 pets in my inventory and one has 3k HAM with 10%kin. and the other has 5k HAM with 20%Kin. Damage does not differ significantly. The fact is, with the posible ranges of success and failure in experimentation as well as the DNA chosen for templates, some pets can be stronger then other pets their level.
Everyone here aggrees that parts of this system are a mystery (apparently even to the devs) why do you put forth your opinion on the system as fact?
And you still have not answered how pets can be invalid if your theory is correct.
I will state again, I am not trying to find the best of the best here. I am looking for examples to shoot for.
a) All pets of the same CL are equal. (This is Tal-N's stance, unless I am mistaken)
b) Some CL 10 pets are too powerful.
Conclusion:
All CL 10 pets are too powerful.
-Edit for grammer. (as well as I understand it anyway)

If"Pets are equal in terms of overall game power" istrue Tal, why did everyone run around withthe same pet typepre-nerf?
Obviously, some stats are more valuable to a certain playstyle, so a good pet with those "valuable" statswill be considered "better", not "overall the same". If you don't PvP, then obviously PetBis a "limited use" pet,and seeing as over 3/4 of the SWG population aren't involved in the GCW, most people would view Pet A as "better" if their other stats are equal.
On the other hand, if you broaden the scope a bit to include health and Pet A has 1300H while Pet B has 13000H, then Pet B will obviously be considered "better" by the majority of players.
Sothere will always be"best/better", even for niche things like PvP, but there will also always be an overall "best/better" based onwhat the majority says suits their playstyle.
I'm not saying your "wrong", as technically you have a valid point, butthe original poster isn't "wrong" either when the majority isn't interested in playing niche styles.

First, I was not attempting to say that my pets, or any are better then any other. I am a newb when it comes to pet crafting. I was looking for examples of what is achievable at those levels.

Continuing on this point, if pets are balanced at the CL then the pets you say are invalid are actually acceptable. You premise that they are inline based on CL dictates that the high HAMs are balanced by the low over all resists, low power and almost non existant courage.
