Thread: BE and Tailor Symbiosis

OK, haven't seen this posted anywhere. Maybe it is something new, or just that nobody has noticed this. But here is an observation:

My husband is grinding up in BE. I am grinding up in Tailor. I told him that, instead of using practice mode, to go ahead and make some of the Myoflex Cloth Treatment so that I can play around with it in my Tailor schematics. Get some practice with putting it together, seeing which schematics I can use it in (precious few, by the way, especially anything calling for 3 panels of synthetic cloth).

So he drops a load of Myoflex off for me, tells me that he just got enough points for his next box in BE, goes and gets trained, and logs off. I'm doing something else, but after he logs off I go to the house and use the Myoflex to make some synthetic cloth. I get the usual amount of XP for this, but it is interesting to see how it is labeled and such. Seems very normal.

Husband logs back on about half-hour later. He notices immediately that his XP for his next BE box is about 1/3 full. When he had logged off, it only had about 100 points in it, now there are thousands.

Bottom line is, that as I use his Myoflex to make Synthetic Cloth, he is receiving XP points. And it is substantial XP, something like about 150 points of XP for every cloth that I make. That is more XP than he got from making the Myoflex to begin with. So when he got another box trained, we tried an experiment. He made Myoflex until his XP had filled about 40% of the box. Then he gave me all the Myoflex that had made that amount of XP for him. When I made all of it into synthetic cloth, he got enough XP to finish the rest of that BE box. So he only had to do 2/5 of the crafting it would normally take to complete that box.

Anyway, hadn't seen this method of getting BE XP anywhere, and thought I would pass it on.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?

Seems that a few crafting professions get this. Chefs get XP when you eat their food and Tailors get XP when people wear there clothes. No sure about the other professions.

All professions *should* get 150% usage XP for their stuff.

That's very cool, thanks for reporting this. I knew about usage xp but had read that it was insignificant, I'm glad to hear it's not. In a sense it probably balances things out a bit since when you're using practice mode you can certainly make them a lot faster, not having to worry about extra clicks or fussing with your storage.

Does the usage xp still apply if you are using the cloth yourself? or is it only if somone else does? I just recently discovered that if I make and use my own slicing knives I get gen. crafting xp, and I went to slice a terminal last night and all of a sudden I qualify for eng1. Is this supposed to happen, and if so does it for BE? Any BE/Tailors can confirm or debunk this?

CM's are like nukes. You have them just incase you need them, but as soon as you start using yours the other guys start using theirs and everything goes to hell
